Meet Your Yogini: Karuna Ahuja
I believe 'Pehla sukh nirogi kaya' (the first happiness is a healthy body). My journey with yoga began as a personal healing path, and today, I am here to guide you toward your own physical wellness and mental peace.
A simple portrait. My goal as a yogini is to be an approachable and knowledgeable guide on your path to wellness.
I share a simple message: can you take one hour out of 24 for your own health? Yoga is a lifestyle, and I invite you to make it a part of your daily routine.
An invitation to celebrate International Yoga Day. I believe yoga gives inner peace, clarity, and physical fitness, and I encourage everyone to start their day with this practice.
Even in a saree, the principles of yoga apply. Here I demonstrate how movement and mindfulness can be integrated into every part of life.
A moment of joy and flexibility in front of our studio's Surya Namaskar mural. Finding balance is about both effort and ease.
Demonstrating a variation of Visvamitrasana. I am constantly exploring my own practice to better guide my students.
In a deep Upavistha Konasana (Wide-Angle Seated Forward Bend), showing the dedication to flexibility that I bring to my teaching.
Practicing in front of this beautiful Shiva and chakra mural reminds me of the deep spiritual connection that yoga offers, balancing our physical and energetic bodies.
A deep stretch in Matsyasana (Fish Pose) variation. This pose is wonderful for opening the heart and throat chakras.
Natarajasana (Dancer's Pose) in front of the Shiva mural. This pose embodies the dynamic dance of energy that yoga cultivates.
About Meet Your Yogini, Karuna Ahuja
If you are wondering how to start, just know that I prioritize safety above all else. In my studio, I don't just teach poses; I watch your alignment to make sure you are moving safely, whether you are working on back pain, neck stiffness, or just trying to build stamina. You don't need to be flexible to join—you just need to be ready to show up for yourself.
My journey into yoga started not in a fancy studio, but through the necessity of healing. Years ago, persistent cervical and back pain made daily life a struggle. It was only when I committed to the practice that I found relief. This is the foundation of Aura Yog Centre. I don’t believe in chasing picture-perfect poses; I believe in functional movement that heals you from the inside out.
When you join my sessions, whether for group classes in Shalimar Bagh or private therapeutic sessions, the goal is always the same: Nirogi Kaya (a disease-free body). We keep our group batches small—10 to 15 students—because I need to be able to watch your form. Whether we are practicing Hatha for stability or Vinyasa for flow, my focus is on your breath and your alignment. If you are struggling with psychosomatic issues, stress, or specific lifestyle ailments, we incorporate shatkarma and breathwork to help release that tension.
I also understand that life is busy. That is why I ask just one question: can you spare one hour out of your 24? We work with props like blocks, straps, and wheels to ensure that even if you feel stiff or non-flexible, you can perform the asanas correctly and safely. You will find us practicing in front of our Shiva and Chakra mural, a space designed to remind you that yoga is not just exercise—it is a lifestyle.
