Mastering Headstands and Yoga Inversions
Turning your world upside down isn't just about the pose—it’s about finding stability within the struggle. In my classes, we build the core strength and technique needed to practice inversions safely, without judgment.
A headstand is a playground for creative expression. This video shows different leg variations in Sirsasana, challenging balance and control while staying centered and calm.
Playing with headstand variations with a partner. This challenges our individual balance while creating beautiful, synchronized shapes and building trust.
This is my real, unedited practice of different headstand entries. My arms shiver and I struggle, but I won't give up. This is how we build strength from our weaknesses.
A quick, fun flow in the gym, moving from a wide-legged forward fold into a headstand. It's a reminder that you can find time and space for your practice anywhere.
About Inversions: Finding Balance Upside Down
People think headstands are just about balance, but it’s actually about core engagement and letting go of fear. My sessions break down the mechanics—how to position your elbows, when to lift, and how to safely catch your fall—so you can practice without worrying about perfection.
When I started practicing, my arms shivered, and I fell constantly. I still do, sometimes. That is exactly why I teach inversions the way I do.
Inversions like the Sirsasana (headstand) are powerful, but they require more than just strength—they need patience. We focus on the 'why' and the 'how' before we even think about going upside down.
- Foundation First: We spend time on alignment, using mats and blocks to ensure your neck and spine are safe.
- Building Core: You cannot float if you don’t have core control. We use specific drills to engage the right muscles.
- The Fear Factor: Most people don't fear falling; they fear the judgment of the room. In my studio, the only person you are competing with is who you were yesterday.
Whether you are a complete beginner or looking to refine your technique, we will work on the step-by-step progressions. We don't rush. We don't force. We just show up, breathe, and trust the process. If you are in Model Town and looking to add some playfulness to your practice, come join us.
