About Inversions: Go Upside Down

Learning inversions isn't about brute strength; it’s about understanding your center. In our shala, we use Iyengar-style props like chairs, blocks, and wall ropes to deconstruct poses like Sirsasana (headstand). You won’t be thrown into a pose alone. We work with you on shoulder engagement and core alignment, ensuring you feel secure before you ever lift both feet off the ground.

Inversion yoga is often intimidating, but that is where the growth happens. When you go upside down, you challenge your equilibrium and build deep core strength that supports your entire practice. At The Yoga Tribe in Andheri West, we focus on the technical preparation required to move safely.

Why Our Approach Works

Many students fear inversions because they worry about falling or neck strain. We remove that fear by using the wall for support and blocks to create space for your shoulders. Our methodology combines Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa principles with Iyengar-style alignment, meaning we don't just ask you to hold a pose—we teach you how to build it from the foundation up.

What You Will Learn

  • Drills and Conditioning: We focus on the repetitive movements that build the specific muscles needed for stability in a handstand.
  • Prop-Assisted Learning: Using chairs and straps allows us to isolate parts of the body so you can understand the correct alignment without straining your lower back or neck.
  • The Mental Shift: We practice Vairagya Bhava—the art of letting go. Inverting is a lesson in surrender and trust. It requires you to be present, focused, and calm.

Whether you are a complete beginner who has never kicked up a leg or an advanced practitioner working on split-leg variations, our studio provides the space to learn at your own rhythm. We keep our batch sizes limited to ensure everyone gets hands-on guidance and proper spotting. Come join the tribe and change your view.
