Pad Work and Mitt Drills: Technical Boxing Training
Pad work is where theory turns into instinct. In these sessions, we sharpen your reflexes, accuracy, and punch combinations under one-on-one supervision.
Working the pads with a dedicated student. We're drilling basic combinations, focusing on turning the punches over and bringing the hands right back to the guard.
Here, we're working on speed and accuracy. The goal of these mitt drills is to make the punches sharp and crisp, building the muscle memory needed for a real fight.
A glimpse into a group training session where students partner up for pad work. This helps them understand both the offensive and defensive sides of each combination.
Even our youngest members get in on the action. Here, a cat playfully interrupts a hand-wrapping session before we get to some serious pad work.

The sound of punches landing on the mitts is the sound of progress. Here, we're working on power and endurance, pushing through the fatigue to finish the round strong.
Pad work with two different students, showing how we adapt the drills to each individual's style and needs. The fundamentals of hard work and technique remain the same.
About Pad Work & Mitt Drills: Precision & Power
Don't expect to just stand there throwing punches at the air. During our pad work, I personally guide your movement, correcting your footwork angles and punch rotation in real-time. We drill until your defensive reactions, like slipping and countering, become muscle memory instead of just a guess.
Pad work is the closest you can get to a real fight without taking damage. In our GTB Nagar facility, we treat the mitts as a dialogue between coach and student. It is not about how hard you hit; it is about hitting with purpose.
We start by breaking down basic combinations, like the jab, cross, hook, and uppercut, until your form is clean. Once that is set, we add the defensive layer. I throw back at you, forcing you to slip, weave, and block before you fire your own counter. This is where we integrate the USSR boxing method, focusing on compact movement and efficient energy transfer.
Key aspects of our sessions:
- Reflex Training: I do not just hold pads; I create situations. You learn to read the target, react to feints, and maintain your guard under pressure.
- Footwork Integration: Boxing happens from the ground up. If your feet are out of place, your power is wasted. We drill movement patterns that ensure you are always in the right spot to attack.
- Technical Feedback: Unlike generic fitness classes, I give instant correction. If your hand is dropping after a hook, you will know it immediately.
This training is designed for anyone, from those wanting to lose weight through intense conditioning to serious amateurs looking to compete. You are not just learning to punch; you are learning to solve problems in the ring. Consistency is the only metric that matters here. Show up, put in the work, and your reflexes will sharpen.
