From fresh, never-frozen momos to traditional thalis, we bring the real flavours of Assam, Nagaland, and Manipur straight to your plate in Mumbai.

This is my Special Pork Thali. It’s a complete meal with Joha rice, dal, Aloo Pitika, and our signature pork curry, made just like we do back home. It’s tradition and comfort served on one plate.

Our Saturday nights are magical. This is the vibe when we have live music, from just a few tables to a full house of beautiful people. It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a community.

This is what I call ‘barkat’ or abundance. A table full of our best dishes, from thalis to starters, ready to be shared. This is how we eat at home, and I want to share that feeling with you.

Welcome to my cozy corner of the Northeast in Mumbai. I've decorated it with Jaapi hats and other items from my motherland to make you feel like you've taken a small trip home.

Watch us prepare our Peri Peri Momos. We make them fresh every single day, pan-frying them until they are perfectly crispy. You can taste the difference when they are never frozen.

I was so happy to host Sanjeev Seth at our restaurant. It means a lot when people appreciate the authentic flavours we are trying to bring to Mumbai. Thank you for the support.

Here we are making traditional Pitha for the Magh Bihu festival. For us, food is tied to our culture and celebrations. This is the taste of home, made with love.

About Featured

We do not believe in shortcuts, so you will never find frozen food in our kitchen. Our momos are hand-rolled fresh every single day, and our thalis feature authentic ingredients like Raja Marcha (King Chilli) and Axone sourced directly from our motherland. When you eat here, expect a plate filled with 'barkat'—abundance—because we want you to leave feeling like you just had a hearty meal at a friend's house in the Northeast.

For us, The Taste of Northeast India is not just a restaurant. It is our way of sharing our roots, our music, and our culture with everyone who walks through our doors in Andheri West.

Why Our Kitchen is Different

We source ingredients like fermented bamboo shoot, King Chilli, and Axone directly from the Northeast. This isn't generic 'Northeast-style' cooking; these are the same recipes we grew up with. Our thalis—whether Assamese, Naga, or Manipuri—are designed to be a complete, balanced meal, featuring staples like Joha rice, Aloo Pitika, and seasonal greens, all cooked with mustard oil and traditional spices.

The Vibe at Our Place

We wanted our space to feel like an escape from the Mumbai hustle. The walls are decorated with Jaapi hats and bamboo lamps, creating a corner that feels like home. On Saturday nights, we open up for live acoustic sessions. It is the perfect time to grab a plate of smoked pork or duck curry, listen to some soulful music, and just relax.

What to Expect

  • Freshness First: We never stock momos. Whether you want them steamed, fried, or in a spicy sauce, they are made to order.
  • Bold Flavours: If you like heat, our Eromba or pork dishes with bamboo shoot are exactly what you are looking for.
  • Community: We are a small team, and we treat every guest like family. If you are new to this cuisine, just ask us—we love explaining what goes into every dish.

The Taste of Northeast

Restaurant at Andheri West, MumbaiStarts from 300 per person

I started this place to share the real taste of my motherland with Mumbai. It isn't a business for us; it is a way to share our culture, our music, and our roots over a plate of honest, fresh food. Come by, pull up a chair, and feel like you are back home.
