Dining and Live Music at Our Northeast Kitchen
We believe food is 'barkat' or abundance. It is more than just eating; it is about sharing a table, listening to good music, and feeling at home in the heart of Mumbai.
Thank you all so much for coming. Seeing tables full of happy people sharing food and conversations is the best feeling.
It was an honour to have Chef Joel Basumatari and his team dine with us. Thank you so much for coming and for your support.
Smiles all around the table. This is what it's all about, bringing people together over good, authentic food.
Our Saturday nights are magical. This is the vibe when we have live music, from just a few tables to a full house of beautiful people. It’s more than a restaurant, it’s a community.
About Happy Guests & Good Times
Our dining space in Andheri is compact and cozy, which means it fills up quickly, especially on Saturday nights when we host live acoustic music. If you are planning to join us for a weekend meal, I always suggest dropping a message first so we can save you a spot and make sure your table is ready.
When I opened this place, I wanted it to be more than just a restaurant. Mumbai can be fast and overwhelming, so I designed this space as a little escape where you can slow down. You will see Jaapi hats from Assam on the walls, bamboo lamps for soft lighting, and photos from my motherland that remind me of home.
We love hosting people, whether you are coming for a solo meal, a date, or a group dinner with friends. Our Saturday nights have become special because of the community that gathers here. We clear some space, bring in musicians, and turn the volume down just enough to enjoy soulful tunes while you dig into a thali.
We do not have a massive banquet hall, and we like it that way. Keeping the seating limited allows us to interact with every guest, explain our ingredients like Axone or Raja Marcha, and ensure the vibe stays chill and personal. If you are looking for a loud, crowded party spot, this might not be it. But if you want to connect with people, enjoy authentic food, and listen to some good music in a place that feels like a friend's living room, you are very welcome here.
The Taste of Northeast
I started The Taste of Northeast to bring a piece of home to Mumbai. Whether you are here for the smoked pork or just to unwind with some live music, my goal is to make you feel like you are visiting a friend, not just a restaurant.
