I started The Taste of Northeast to bring real Northeast Indian cuisine to Mumbai. If you’re craving home-style food or just want to try something different, aap log yahan pe aake (you all can come here and) taste dishes made with original spices and recipes. No shortcuts, only the real deal.
What’s on the Plate
- Our thalis are the best way to sample everything - Assamese, Naga, or Manipuri style. You get Joha rice, dal, Aloo Pitika, Begun Bhaja, spicy Jola Bota, and your choice of main curry (pork, chicken, fish, or veg).
- For those who love bold flavours, try Pork with Bamboo Shoot or Axone, King Chilli dishes (
Raja Marcha), Duck Curry, or Buff. These are not for the faint-hearted. - Momos are made
ekdum fresh(absolutely fresh) daily, never frozen. Thukpa is perfect if you want something simple and soulful.
The Vibe
Our place is small and cozy, decorated with Jaapi (Assamese hats), bamboo lamps, and photos from back home. It’s a hidden gem in Andheri, meant to feel like an escape from Mumbai’s hustle.
Saturday Night Music
On Saturdays, we host live music sessions. The vibe changes - soulful tunes, good food, and a full house. It’s a proper live music restaurant Andheri style.
What You Get
Everything is made fresh, with love and care. For me, food means barkat (abundance), and you’ll see that in every plate. Come for the authentic thali experience, stay for the warmth and music.

My Story
Hey, I’m just someone who loves good food and good vibes. Life for me is all about enjoying every bit, finding new roads on my bike, and sharing my roots. Started with empty tables, now we’re packed with music and laughter. Bringing the taste of my Northeast home to Mumbai is magic. This place isn’t business, it’s sharing our culture and love, and I’m grateful for every guest. Come, feel at home.
My Work
Authentic Northeast Cuisine - We serve food from Assam, Nagaland, Manipur, plus Momos, Thukpa, and some Chinese dishes.
Homemade Momos Every Day - Aaj hum bana rahe hain ekdum fresh momos - made daily, never stocked, always tasty.
Real Flavours & Organic Ingredients - Try spicy Raja Marcha chutney, bamboo shoot dishes, Axone (fermented soybean). We use organic stuff from home.
Special Thalis - Our Assamese, Naga, Manipuri thalis are full meals with ‘barkat’ - feels like home, tastes great.
