About Yoga & Wellness Workshops
Why I Started The Shala
I set up The Shala because I wanted a space that’s not just about perfect poses. For me, it’s more about showing up as you are, connecting with others, and figuring yourself out a bit more each time. Community matters to me, and I think we all learn together. Sometimes the practice feels tough, and that’s normal - but you always leave a bit lighter.
Beginners Welcome (No Stress!)
You don’t have to feel ready, trust me. I run Ashtanga yoga foundations sessions for absolute newbies, inspired by my own teachers. We keep groups small, so you get time to ask questions, figure out basics, and just be yourself. Expect breakdowns of basic poses, how to breathe right, and those little rituals (like opening mantras) that make yoga feel special.
For Those Looking to Go Deeper
If you’ve practiced before and want more, we host mindful movement workshops with guest instructors. These cover trickier postures (think backbends, arm balances) and focus a lot on safe alignment and understanding your own limits. Sometimes we dive into yoga philosophy weekends, where we chat about why yoga works, pranayama, meditation, and chanting.
Wellness Beyond Poses
It’s not all about asana here. We offer small group breathwork sessions, sound healing certification workshops, and themed gatherings like Women & The Moon circles. These help you relax, process emotions, and just feel more at peace - no pressure to be perfect.

My Story
You know, The Shala started as a leap into the unknown. Messy, unsure, but real. Our Guruji, Shri Sharath Jois, changed everything for us - not just with asana, but with laughter and humility. This place isn’t just mats and walls. It’s a home. Here, you can drop the mask, be messy, breathe, and learn from every pose. We’re not about perfect yoga. We’re about honest practice, together.
My Work
Yoga classes for everyone - We teach Traditional Ashtanga (Mysore style & Led), Hatha, and Flex & Flow yoga. All levels welcome.
Community yoga classes - More than a studio - it’s a space to heal, connect, and grow together. People make The Shala special.
Ashtanga lineage & tradition - We share Ashtanga as taught by Sharath Jois. Practice unfolds breath by breath, with deep respect.
Sound Healing & alignment workshops - We host special sessions like Sound Healing and yoga alignment workshops for deeper practice.
No judgement, just yoga - Come as you are. Beginners or experienced, your journey starts with the wish to learn. We’ll guide you.
