A Welcoming Yoga Sanctuary in Greater Kailash
I created The Shala to be a space where you can leave the outside world at the door. It is filled with light, plants, and the honest energy of a community that shows up exactly as they are.
One of my favorite corners of The Shala. The natural light, the green plants, and the warm wood create a peaceful atmosphere for our practice.
Our community bulletin board, capturing the essence of The Shala. It's filled with memories from our classes, schedules for upcoming workshops, and photos of our journey together.
You know you've arrived at a yoga shala. We leave our shoes, and the outside world, at the door before stepping onto the mat to connect with ourselves.
A sacred corner of our shala, with a photo of my Guru, an Ashtanga manual, and offerings of flowers and light. This space holds the intention and reverence for our practice.
An altar set up for one of our workshops, with rose petals, candles, and crystals. We create these sacred spaces to honor the energy of our gatherings and deepen our connection.
Another favorite corner, where we honor our lineage. A photo of my Guru, fresh flowers, and the Ashtanga Yoga Anusthana book serve as a constant source of inspiration.
Our bulletin board in November, filled with announcements for upcoming workshops and classes. Stop by next time you're here to see what's planned for you.
A quick post-practice mirror selfie with a friend. The best part of The Shala is the company we keep and the connections we build.
A small altar reminding us that community is everything. A photo of my Guru, a magazine feature, and a sacred symbol all represent the journey and the people who are part of it.
A beautiful mandala created for one of our workshops, with oracle cards, crystals, and a singing bowl. These details help set a magical and healing tone for our sessions.
About Welcome to Our Space
When you walk through our doors, you will not find a sterile fitness center or people striving for perfect poses. You will see a small, sunlit room filled with plants, incense, and a bulletin board that documents the real, lived-in community we have built together. This is a place where you can leave your shoes at the door, put down your armor, and just breathe.
I designed The Shala to feel more like a home than a studio. You will see photos of my Guru, Sharath Jois, on our altar. His teachings are the foundation of everything I do here, but we share them in a way that is accessible and human. We keep our sessions small and intimate on purpose, whether you are joining us for a sound healing circle, a breathwork session, or your daily Ashtanga practice.
Everything in this space serves a purpose. We use heavy bolsters that are actually comfortable, warm blankets for Savasana, and we always have herbal tea ready after a session. We do not chase aesthetic perfection here. We chase the messy, honest, and sometimes difficult work of showing up for yourself. If you are looking for a place where you can be a beginner, feel awkward, and still be welcomed with open arms, you have found your spot. Our community is not about moving bodies; it is about moving through your week with a little more clarity and support.
