About Community Workshops & Guest Teachers
We keep these workshops small and intimate, even when we host legends like Eddie Stern. This isn't a lecture hall environment where you just watch from the back; you get the space to actually practice, ask questions, and have your alignment corrected. If you have been feeling stuck in your routine, this is the environment designed to help you break through those plateaus.
Our workshops go beyond the standard daily class. Whether we are hosting a master teacher to deep-dive into Ashtanga philosophy, or running a certification course in Thai Yoga Massage, the goal remains the same: community-led growth.
Why Workshops Matter
When you commit to a 2-day or 4-day intensive, your relationship with your practice shifts. You stop rushing through the motions and start understanding the 'why' behind the movement. We focus on:
- Anatomical Precision: Learning how to engage muscles correctly to avoid injury and gain strength.
- Philosophy & Breath: Understanding the tradition behind the poses we practice daily.
- Hands-On Healing: Courses like Thai Massage allow you to learn the medicine of touch, something you can share with your friends and family.
What to Expect
These sessions are for everyone. If you are a beginner, you learn the foundations properly from the start. If you are a seasoned practitioner, you get to unlearn the habits that might be holding you back. We create a space where it is safe to be a student again, regardless of how many years you have been practicing. Most of our guest workshops happen right here at our Greater Kailash studio, but we occasionally partner with other venues in Delhi NCR to host larger gatherings when we want to bring the whole community together.
Keep an eye on our schedule for upcoming guest teacher visits—we bring in experts who challenge us, make us laugh, and remind us that yoga is ultimately about connection.
The Shala
I'm Sonakshi, and I started The Shala to create a space where we aren't just doing poses, but actually learning from each other. When we host guest teachers, it’s about bringing that shared curiosity and deep practice to our community, so we can all grow a little bit more, together.
