Moments from the Mat: Daily Yoga Practice in Rohini
A glimpse into our daily studio flow in Prashant Vihar, where we combine Hatha principles with props to build real, functional strength.
This is Shakti Yoga. It is a place to unleash your inner power, where strength meets serenity. This is a journey for your mind, body, and soul.
A simple but effective core exercise. My students work on leg raises, building the abdominal strength that is essential for a stable and powerful yoga practice.
Another smile from the studio. I believe in leading my students towards spiritual knowledge and self-realization, and it all starts with finding that inner peace.
Stretching the body to soothe the soul. This is a glimpse into the daily practice at my studio, from wall-supported inversions to deep backbends.
About this collection
These images show the reality of our practice at Shakti Yoga. We do not just stretch; we use bamboo sticks, wall ropes, and blocks to correct your alignment and deepen your reach. It requires effort—'thoda mehnat'—to see real results, but with these props, you can safely push your body’s limits without the risk of injury.
Yoga is not just about holding a pose; it is about understanding how your body works within that pose. In my studio in Prashant Vihar, we move beyond generic stretching. Whether you are aiming for weight loss, core stability, or relief from back pain, the props you see in these photos—like the wall ropes for spinal traction or bamboo sticks for leverage—are essential tools.
Why we use props
Many people think props are for beginners. In our practice, props are for everyone. They allow you to hold an asana longer, fix your alignment, and engage the correct muscles. When we practice this way, you stop guessing and start feeling the 'Shakti'—the energy—inside you.
The reality of the practice
We focus on daily, consistent effort. My students come here for real change, not for soft relaxation. You will see us working through Hatha sequences, high-repetition drills for fat loss, and breathwork to calm the mind. It is a space for those who are ready to show up, work hard, and see what they are truly capable of. If your mind says 'quit,' that is exactly when the real yoga begins.
Jas Pal
I am Jas Pal, and I founded Shakti Yoga to bring real discipline back to the mat. My classes are for those who want to move past simple stretching and actually feel their body change, using props to unlock potential safely. We don't just work on poses; we work on the person inside.
