The Spirit of Yoga: Finding Stillness in Nature

Yoga is more than just asanas on a mat. Whether in our Rohini studio or out in nature, we focus on connecting with your inner 'Shakti' to find relief from daily stress and pain.

Mata Bhumi Putroham Prithivya: The Earth is my mother, and I am her child. Through yoga, we learn to nurture the Earth that nurtures us. This is a reminder to protect, respect, and love our first mother.

Today I took a nature bath, a 'prakriti snan'. I walked barefoot on the grass, used a tree for support, and practiced asanas under the sun. This experience of practicing in the lap of nature, bathing all five elements, is something I encourage everyone to try.

In the month of Shravan, we connect with the essence of Shiva that resides within us all. Here, I take a moment in nature to meditate on this inner power, awakening the Shiva element through stillness and practice.

Finding stillness in the midst of motion. Here I practice Bakasana (Crane Pose) on a rock with water flowing all around, a powerful reminder that we can find our center even when the world is in flux.

Keep smiling. This ancient shloka is a prayer to be led from unreality to reality, from darkness to light, and from mortality to immortality. It is the essence of the yogic journey towards self-realization and peace.

About The Spirit of Yoga: Connecting with Nature & Self

You don't need a perfectly still mind to start this journey. Whether we are in the Prashant Vihar studio or practicing outdoors, I teach you to use the ground, the trees, and your breath as tools to steady the storm. It is about meeting your body exactly where it is today—not where you think it should be—and using that honesty to find true, lasting relief.
