About Women's Self-Defense
What We Stand For
At The Dojo, building warriors isn’t just a tagline - it’s the way we do things. Martial arts, for us, is a lifelong journey. Everything starts with the basics, like Sensei always says, and we stick to that. We want you to feel strong, steady and ready for anything life throws your way.
Why Our Women’s Self-Defense Program Feels Different
This isn’t just a set of tricks for emergencies. Our focus is on helping you find real confidence, both in training and outside. We want you to walk out feeling like you can handle yourself, even if you’re totally new to this. Empowering women through martial arts is what we care about.
What You’ll Actually Do
- Practice real-life attack defense for women - not just theory, but drills like breaking out of a wall choke.
- Learn self-defense moves for beginners from both Karate and BJJ: stuff like side control, full guard, and back control.
- Build strength and flexibility too, so you’re not just learning moves, but getting fitter and tougher overall.
Who’s Welcome Here
All women and girls, any age, any level. Don’t worry if you’ve never thrown a punch - just show up as you are. Our group self-defense classes for ladies are about courage, respect, and discipline, but also about backing each other up.
More Than Just a Class
We train hard but we laugh a lot too. You’ll find people here who push you to be better, not just in martial arts but in life. Everyone’s here to help each other level up, together.

My Story
We kicked off The Dojo with a simple idea - bring every martial art together, right here in Bangalore. Not just a gym, this place is kinda like a second home for fighters, kids, office folks, anyone. Watching our coach Uma Maheshwar fight for India at Asian Games, that was wild. We’re all about sweat, sore muscles, big grins after class. Tomorrow, we’re back at it. That’s the vibe. Warrior spirit, always.
My Work
All Martial Arts Under One Roof - We teach Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi/No Gi), MMA, Muay Thai, Kyokushin Karate, Shotokan, boxing, and conditioning.
Classes for Every Age and Level - Kids, teens, adults - we’ve got batches for everyone. Special women's self-defense seminar too.
Top Coaches, Real Experience - Our team’s packed with pros, IV Dan Black Belts, and athletes who’ve competed worldwide.
Proper Dojo Vibes - Space is clean, has showers, pantry, feels like a real Japanese dojo. You come, you train, you focus.
More Than Training - We’re a community. Discipline, respect, helping each other grow. Mind, body, spirit - all in.
