Step into the heart of Swarveni Gurukul. Discover the depth of our tradition through intimate baithaks, immersive vocal sessions, and the sacred Guru-Shishya lineage.

For me, the most important question is always this: "Is there emotion in the line you’re singing?" This is the essence of my teaching. It is about going beyond technique to find the 'bhaav' that connects the music to the soul.

This is the atmosphere of a Swarveni Baithak. We gather not in a formal hall, but in a close, intimate setting where the audience and artists share the same space, creating a truly immersive musical experience.

The goal of our sadhana is to reach a state where the music flows through you. This image captures that moment of complete surrender, where the artist, Smt. Tanushree Kashyap Sharma, is fully immersed in the raga.

A glimpse from one of our vocal training sessions. Here, students are not just passive listeners; they are active participants in the exploration of a raga, learning through practice and direct guidance.

The Guru-Shishya Parampara is about direct transmission of knowledge. Here, I am guiding a young student in understanding the posture and connection with the tanpura, a foundational element of our classical music.

The journey of a student culminates in moments like these. This is a student from our Gurukul, lost in his performance, showcasing the dedication and focus that we cultivate in our classes.

We believe in exploring the vastness of music. Here is a unique moment from a baithak, featuring a Hindustani classical piece on the Hawaiian Guitar, demonstrating the versatility and adaptability of our musical traditions.

Hearing from my students is the greatest reward. Smt. Renu Garg shares her experience of finding not just a music class, but a community and a place for personal growth at Swarveni Gurukul.

The Swarveni Utsav is a celebration of our students' hard work. This is our musical family, a community of learners and artists coming together to support each other on their journey.

It is my honor to host and collaborate with esteemed artists like Sh. Arnab Bhattacharya and Sh. Kuldeep Mishra. These interactions enrich our Gurukul and expose students to the highest levels of artistry.

About Featured

My Gurukul is not a typical school with stiff classrooms. When you step into our space in Rohini, you are entering a living practice of the Guru-Shishya tradition. We sit together on the floor, surrounded by the sound of tanpuras, to learn not just the notes, but the bhaav (emotion) that defines our art.
