At Swarveni, music is a sadhana we share together. Our community is built on the Guru-Shishya tradition, where we celebrate the divine art of Hindustani classical music through intimate baithaks, festivals, and student-led performances.

On Guru Purnima, we honor the sacred bond between a Guru and Shishya. This day is a reminder of the guide who leads us from darkness to light.

Glimpses from our Guru Purnima celebrations at the academy, an event filled with puja, music, and reverence for our teachers and tradition.

On Guru Purnima, I begin the day by paying homage to the great masters who have guided my path. This act of reverence is central to our tradition.

Sh. Sanjay Kumar, a respected official and our student, shares his experience of learning at Swarveni and the unique, familial atmosphere of our Gurukul.

Two sisters, Smt. Anju Chhabra and Smt. Veena Batra, share their journey of learning music together at Swarveni, both online and offline.

Smt. Komal Pathak, a school principal, speaks about how Swarveni has helped her not just learn music, but also to understand and connect with it on a spiritual level.

We are incredibly proud to announce the victory of our students at the National-level Ninad Music Competition. Their hard work and our Guruji's guidance led to success in every category.

Our 'Swar Mandir' (Temple of Notes). The space where we practice is sacred, adorned with images of gurus and instruments, creating a divine atmosphere for learning.

About Our Community & Celebrations

When you join us, you are stepping into a lineage, not just a classroom. Our events, from the intimate Guru Purnima puja to our annual Swarveni Utsav, are designed to pull you out of the 'classroom' mindset and into the 'performing' mindset. You learn by doing, by watching others, and by experiencing the nerves of a live stage, because music only truly lives when it is shared with a listener.

At Swarveni, learning Hindustani classical music is a collective effort. We believe that a student grows fastest when they are surrounded by others who share their thirst for knowledge. This is why our community is central to our teaching philosophy.

Why We Celebrate

Cultural festivals like Guru Purnima and Basant Panchami are not just social gatherings for us. They are opportunities to understand the historical and spiritual roots of our ragas. We use these moments to teach students about the sanctity of our art form and the history of the legendary masters who came before us.

The Stage as a Classroom

Many academies focus solely on theory, but we believe in the 'Swarveni Utsav' model. We push our students to perform because the stage is the ultimate teacher. Standing before an audience—even a supportive one in our Gurukul—teaches a student how to manage their breath, control their pitch, and importantly, bring 'bhaav' (emotion) to their performance. Whether you are a beginner or an advanced student, you will eventually find your place at the center of our baithak.

A Space for Connection

Our 'Swar Mandir' is designed for immersion. When we hold our monthly baithaks, there is no barrier between the artist and the audience. You are sitting on the same level, sharing the same space, listening to the same nuances of the raga. This is the environment we have built for you—a place where music is a way of life, not just a hobby.
