About Music Workshops & Masterclasses
Why I Do This
Music for me isn’t just something you pick up and leave. Yeh sangeet ek sadhana hai - it’s a spiritual practice. Every workshop or masterclass I host is about helping you feel that journey, not just learn a few notes. If you’re looking to go beyond surface-level classes, you’ll probably like it here.
What Happens at Swarveni Gurukul
- We gather at my academy in Rohini, not in some stiff classroom. It’s a close-knit vibe. You sit close to artists, no fancy stage stuff - just real, immersive baithak concerts where you actually feel the music.
- I follow the Guru-Shishya Parampara session style, so you get that old-school, teacher-disciple connection. It’s not just about skill, it’s about community.
- Guest artists drop in for hands-on Hindustani classical music workshops. You might find yourself learning from a sitar maestro or a tabla pro, sometimes even a Hawaiian guitarist. Depends on who’s free and willing to share.
- We do thematic music exploration - like our Malhar Baithak, where you’ll dive into ragas that bring out the mood of monsoon. Other times, it’s about understanding different taals or just getting the feel right.
For Students
Once a year, our Swarveni Utsav gives students the stage. They perform, get a taste of live accompaniment and real audience energy. It’s not always perfect, but that’s the point - you learn, you grow, you feel.
What Matters Most
Technical skills count, sure. But I always ask - jo line gaa rahe ho usme bhaav bana ya nahi bana? (Is there emotion in the line you’re singing or playing?) That’s what we chase, together.

My Story
Namaskar, main Ashish Narayan Tripathi. Swarveni Gurukul for me is not just a place, it's home. Yahan pe music sirf hobby nahi hai, yeh toh poori zindagi hai. Guru-Shishya parampara mein hum music ko ek sadhana mante hain. Baithaks karte hain, jahan har sur, har bhaav ko mehsoos kar sakte ho. Mere bete Suramya bhi isi raaste pe hai, aur mujhe garv hai yeh sab share karne mein. Aap bhi aaiye, humare is musical safar ka hissa baniye.
My Work
Hindustani Vocal Classes - Online & Offline - We teach Hindustani vocal, both online for faraway students and offline at our Gurukul.
Workshops & Baithak Music Sessions - Regular baithaks and workshops, where you can feel every note up close.
Teaching with Bhaav (Emotion) - Here, sur aur taal ke saath-saath, bhaav sabse zaroori hai. Without emotion, music is empty.
For All Ages & Levels - Beginner ho ya advanced, 7 saal ke ho ya 70, sabke liye jagah hai.
Holistic Music Learning - It’s not just about singing, it’s a community. Listen, perform, and grow with others.
