This is the first impression of my sadhana and my Gurukul. These selections showcase the soul of our music, the intimacy of our baithaks, the dedication of our students, and the spirit of the Guru-Shishya tradition that I uphold. This is what we chase together: not just notes, but emotion.
The Swarveni Baithak: Intimate Concerts
Experience Hindustani classical music in its most authentic form. Our 'baithaks' are close-knit concerts where you sit near the artists, feeling the energy and emotion of live ragas, without the distance of a formal stage. We host monthly performances featuring a variety of guest artists on vocals, sitar, sarod, tabla, and even unique instruments like the Hawaiian guitar.
The Guru-Shishya Parampara: Our Classes
Learning here is a 'sadhana' or spiritual practice rooted in the timeless teacher-disciple tradition. I provide direct, personal guidance in a group setting, focusing not just on technical skill but on finding the 'bhaav' or emotion within each note. Classes include riyaz (practice), palta exercises, and deep dives into the structure and feeling of different ragas.
Swarveni Utsav: Our Students Take the Stage
The Swarveni Utsav is our annual celebration where students get their first taste of a live performance with professional accompaniment. It is the culmination of their hard work and dedication, providing a platform to grow, learn, and experience the energy of a real audience. We feature performances from students of all ages and skill levels.
Workshops with Visiting Maestros
We regularly invite renowned guest artists, vocalists, and musicologists to conduct hands-on workshops at our academy. These sessions offer students a unique opportunity to learn directly from masters of different instruments and gharanas, deepening their understanding of the art form. Past workshops have featured experts like Hindustani vocalist and author Pandit Devendra Verma.
Devotion in Music: Bhajans & Aradhana
For us, music is a path to the divine. Our 'Swarveni Aradhana' events and bhajan performances are dedicated to this spiritual expression. These gatherings, often held at temples and during festive occasions like Mandala Puja, allow students to connect with the devotional roots of our music.
The Philosophy of Sangeet
Hindustani music is built on a deep foundation of theory and philosophy. This collection explores core concepts like 'Raga', 'Taal', 'Kaida', and 'Antara' to help you understand the structure behind the melody. We also share wisdom from legendary masters to inspire your own musical journey.
Our Community & Celebrations
Swarveni Gurukul is more than an academy; it is a community of artists, students, and music lovers. Here, we share our students' achievements, their learning experiences, and celebrate important cultural moments like Guru Purnima and Basant Panchami together.
Raghunathanjali: A Musical Tribute
A special baithak organized in collaboration with Sangeet Kala Kendra, Agra, 'Raghunathanjali' is a tribute event featuring a stellar lineup of artists. This annual program honors the legacy of great musicians and includes performances, felicitations, and the presentation of the 'Swarveni Kalasetu' Award.
