Authentic Kyokushin Karate Classes in Koramangala
Discipline, spirit, and real-world strength. Join our Raclo Dojo family in Koramangala, where we train to build a strong body and a resilient heart.
I teach that the spirit of Kyokushin is not confined to the dojo walls. Here, we practice Bunkai, the application of kata techniques, during an outdoor training camp, connecting with nature and the core principles of our art.
Discipline and focus start young. This is a look at our kids' batch during a belt grading event, where every student demonstrates their progress in Kihon, the fundamental punches, blocks, and stances.
Full-contact sparring, or Kumite, is central to Kyokushin. This is where students test their skills, courage, and spirit against a partner in a controlled, competitive environment.
We take our training beyond the dojo. This video shows our students practicing Kihon drills together at our Jayanti forest summer camp, building strength and spirit in a natural environment.
Kyokushin demands physical and mental toughness. Our conditioning includes unconventional methods like tire training to build functional strength, endurance, and the perseverance to overcome any obstacle.
Progression in Kyokushin is earned through hard work and dedication. I am proud to stand with my students after a successful belt grading, a testament to their commitment and the strength of our dojo community.
Kata are the forms that contain the essence of karate. Here, I demonstrate a sequence, focusing on the precise movements, power, and breathing that are crucial for mastering these traditional patterns.
Training can happen anywhere. I offer online classes to guide students, even the youngest ones, through their karate journey from home, ensuring the fundamentals are practiced correctly.
About Featured
Training at Raclo Dojo is not about gym comfort; it is about the spirit of the dojo. We train barefoot on 1-inch foam mats, using old-school tools like tractor tires for conditioning. You will sweat, you will be pushed, and you will learn the precise Kihon and Kumite techniques that define genuine Kyokushin, whether you are in our Koramangala dojo or training live online.
Our Approach to Kyokushin
Atama wa hikuku, me wa takaku, kuchi tsutsushinde kokoro hiroku. Keep your head low, eyes high, mouth shut, heart open. This philosophy is the foundation of every session at Raclo Dojo. We believe martial arts is a life path that demands consistency and respect for your training partners.
What You Will Learn
- Kihon (Basics): We drill stances, punches, blocks, and kicks until they become second nature. Repetition is how you build the muscle memory required for higher-level techniques.
- Kata (Forms): These are not just sequences; they are fights against imaginary opponents. We focus on the precision, breathing, and power generation needed to master these forms.
- Kumite (Full-Contact Sparring): This is where you test your resolve. We practice with pads and gear in a controlled environment, focusing on timing, distance, and the courage to engage.
Training for Everyone
We have been operating for over 30 years because we focus on the individual. Whether you are a beginner looking to get fit, a parent seeking discipline for your child, or an advanced practitioner preparing for IBKO grading, my classes are structured to meet you where you are.
If you cannot reach us in Koramangala, our online classes bring the same intensity to your living room. We use shadow kumite and calisthenics to ensure you get a full workout without needing a full gym setup. Every belt you earn here is earned through hard work, sweat, and persistence. Osu.
Ravi Carvalho
I am Sensei Carvalho, and I believe Kyokushin is a life path, not just a sport. My teacher, Shihan Jennifer, taught me that a strong heart is just as important as a strong fist. In my dojo, we train as a family—everyone from beginners to experienced karateka pushes each other to get better every single day.
