About Kyokushin Karate Training
Why I Teach Kyokushin
I started Kyokushin because I wanted to face my own fears, not just learn how to fight. For me, it’s about discipline, fitness, and building mental strength. The Kyokushin spirit is simple: keep your head low, eyes sharp, mouth shut, heart open. I try to live by that every day.
What Training Looks Like
- I teach everyone - kids, adults, total beginners, and those who’ve trained before.
- We begin with Kihon, the basics. Stances, punches, kicks, blocks. We drill till it feels natural.
- Next comes Kyokushin kata sequences. These forms are like fighting imaginary opponents, and they help you focus and build muscle memory.
- Full-contact karate sparring is a big part of our style. We use pads, gear, and practice with partners. It’s tough, but you learn a lot about yourself.
- Physical conditioning is always there. Expect lots of drills to build strength and stamina. Sometimes it’s hard, but you get stronger.
How You Can Train
- Offline group classes at Raclo Dojo, Koramangala. We train indoors and sometimes outdoors. Separate batches for kids and adults.
- Online classes if you can’t make it in person. I cover basics, fighting techniques, kata, and shadow kumite.
The Kyokushin Family
We’ve been around for 30+ years. It’s not just training - it’s a Kyokushin dojo community. Students become instructors, and we all push each other. Camps and tournaments are part of the journey.
Progress & Belts
You’ll get regular Kyokushin belt grading under IBKO. Every step forward is earned. Osu!

My Story
Osh. I’m Sensei Carvalho. Kyokushin Karate is my life, not just a sport. My teacher, Shihan Jennifer, taught me courage—her spirit is with us always. Our dojo in Bangalore is like a family, we train, we laugh, we support. Even outside the dojo, I try to keep my heart big—like feeding stray dogs during lockdown. Strong body, strong heart, both matter. Osu.
