About Indian Club & Mace Training (Mugdar & Gada)
Why I Train This Way
I grew up in Thrissur, Kerala, so chai and old-school Indian movement are in my blood. After decades in fitness and even winning a state lifting title, I realised what really matters is how you move in daily life. Modern routines? Too rigid. With Indian clubs (Mugdar) and mace (Gada), it’s about flowing, ancient moves that actually help with the stiff, stuck feeling from sitting or screen work.
What Makes Mugdar & Gada Training Different
- All about natural, powerful movement, not just muscle size
- Focus on joint health, especially shoulders, wrists, and back
- Great for anyone - I’ve taught 8-year-olds, my own 60+ chitta (aunt), and busy IT folks
- If regular gym stuff feels boring or makes you sore, this is something else
What You’ll Notice
- Shoulders, elbows, wrists start feeling looser - less nagging pain
- Core, grip, and back strength build up without even thinking about it
- Movements need focus, so your brain gets a workout too
- Heart rate goes up, so it’s good cardio as well
How We Train
- Offline group workshops in Bangalore (all equipment provided)
- Online morning sessions for regular practice (need your own clubs/mace)
- Personal sessions, both online and in-person, if you want more one-on-one
I use high-quality wooden Mugdar, Gada, and Karlakattai, and can help you pick the right gear for your level. This is more than just another workout - it’s ancient Indian functional fitness, fit for modern life.
