Real Results: Strength and Mobility Through Ancient Tools

Movement is not just about the gym. See how people are fixing their posture, relieving chronic pain, and getting stronger using traditional Mugdar and Gada workouts.

Listen to what Jaydeep, a working professional, has to say. He found that Mugdar training helped relieve a painful nerve cramp in his hand from laptop use and improved his shoulder flexibility. This is what I mean by functional fitness for modern life.

Pallavi shares her experience after including Mugdar and clubs in her workout. She talks about how her shoulder flexibility improved and the usual aches and pains from lifting weights got better.

This training is truly for everyone. Here is my own 60+ aunt learning the basic swings. It proves that age is no barrier to improving your mobility and strength with Indian clubs.

A happy student with her new 5 kg Rosewood Thoppai Karalai. It's always great to see my clients get excited about their new equipment and continue their practice at home.

I am so grateful for the wonderful feedback we receive after our workshops. Reading these reviews motivates me to keep sharing this ancient art form with more people.

About this collection

The best proof isn't in my words, but in the shifts my students feel. Take Jaydeep, a fellow professional who spends hours on a laptop. He came to me with a painful nerve cramp that stopped him from working. By using simple, circular movements with the Mugdar, he managed to release that tension in his shoulder without needing a specialist. This is the difference between training for muscle size and training for actual joint health.

Training for Modern Life

Most modern gym routines are rigid. You sit all day, your shoulders get stuck, and then you go to the gym to do more linear, repetitive movements. It is no wonder so many people have nagging pain in their elbows, wrists, or lower back. My approach with Mugdar (Indian clubs) and Gada (mace) is different. These tools force your body to move in circles, arcs, and spirals. This simple shift is what brings back the fluidity you were born with.

Who This Is For

I believe fitness has no age limit. I have taught 8-year-olds and my own 60-plus aunt. If you have been told that you are too old, too stiff, or too busy, this is for you.

  • Desk Job Professionals: If your shoulders feel locked from laptop use, we start with light clubs to open up the chest and restore shoulder range of motion.
  • Recovery Seekers: We use Gada and Mugdar for gentle rehabilitation to address long-term stiffness, not just quick fixes.
  • Athletes: If you already lift weights, these tools act as the perfect counterbalance to improve grip strength and core coordination.

What You Need to Know

When you start, do not worry about the weight. A 2kg club is more than enough to learn the mechanics. I provide professional Rosewood and Sheesham equipment during our offline workshops in Bangalore, so you do not need to buy anything to begin. We focus on form, swing path, and grip strength first. Once you master the flow, you will notice your heart rate climbs, your wrists feel stronger, and that 'stuck' feeling in your upper back slowly disappears.
