My No-Nonsense Approach to Online Yoga

I don't believe in Insta-perfect poses. My classes are about real alignment, steady breath, and actually showing up for yourself. If you’re tired of generic videos and want someone to genuinely watch your back, you’re in the right place.

"What do you want to do? One hour you cannot do shavasan." A compilation of things I say in class. I'm tough, but I'm also your biggest cheerleader.

People say online classes don't work. I say, watch this. I can see your alignment, I can hear your breath, and I can guide you through a jump-back to Chaturanga, all through a screen.

This is my face when I count for myself the same way I count for my students. Now I know how you guys feel. It's slow, I know.

A group of us after a weekend workshop. Even though most of our work is online, the sense of community is real and so important.

The face you make when a friend joins your class and you're deciding just how intense to make it. It's all fun and games.

Thinking, contemplating... "Should I go easy on them today?" The answer is probably no.

That look of "Alright, let's do this." Getting ready to guide the class through the practice, no matter how tough.

The joy of practice. Even as a teacher, there are moments in class that just make you smile.

Rolling out the mat is the first step. It's a commitment to show up for yourself, and I'm here to guide you the rest of the way.

About The No-Nonsense Class Vibe

Don’t expect to hide in the back of a black screen during my sessions. I use what I call 'spy eyes' because I am watching your alignment through the screen as closely as if I were in the room with you. If your shoulders are collapsing or your form is off during a plank, I am going to call it out immediately so you don’t hurt yourself. This isn't about being fast, it is about being safe and consistent.

The Reality of Online Classes

Most people think online yoga is just following a pre-recorded video, but that is not what I do. My sessions are live, interactive, and honestly, a bit intense. I cap my batches at ten people because I need to be able to see you, properly. If you are doing a downward dog and your heels are miles off the floor or your shoulders are crunching towards your ears, I am going to catch it. You will hear me call out corrections just like I would if I were standing right next to you.

How We Practice

We mix Hatha and Vinyasa with physiotherapy-based drills, meaning we are not just moving to look pretty. We are moving to stay functional. I integrate household items like a dupatta or a water bottle because you do not need expensive gear to get strong. We focus on biomechanics, which means I will explain the 'why' behind a movement so you understand how to protect your joints.

The 'No-Nonsense' Ethos

The 'No-Nonsense' part is not just a label. I expect you to show up. I do not offer recordings for missed classes because the discipline of turning up at a specific time is half the battle. If you are looking for a relaxed space to just zone out, my classes might be a bit of a shock, but if you are looking to actually understand your body, heal your aches, and build real strength, we will get along just fine.

I’m Charu. I teach yoga because it helped me heal from my own disc bulges and sciatica, so I do not mess around with alignment. I am the teacher who will cheer the loudest when you nail a pose, but I will also be the first to tell you to fix your knees if you are doing it wrong.
