My Thoughts on Yoga, Life & Everything In-Between
Yoga isn't about fancy shapes or fleeting trends. It’s a tool to live better, feel stronger, and actually face your own mind. Here’s how I look at the mat, the practice, and the reality of getting fit.
I'm a yoga teacher and I'll say it: International Yoga Day has become like Valentine's Day. One day of hype, and then it's forgotten.
Yes, it helps build awareness for one day. But after that, for most people, it's a shit show. My honest take on the fleeting nature of one-day wellness trends.
A question for other teachers: Are you doing it for the hype, or do you really care? It's important to question our motivations.
The depth of yog philosophy is often unexplored. We don't even pronounce "yog" correctly. A little irony for you.
Instead of chasing hype, strive to be an example. Live mindfully, be kind, and take care of your mental and physical health. Live light and free.
If you're trying to get fitter but aren't changing what you eat or drink, you're in an infinite circle of frustration. Some tough love and hard truths about getting healthy.
What qualities should you look for in a yoga teacher? Patience, knowledge, respect for boundaries, and someone who is just a wonderful human being.
Your yoga teacher doesn't just teach. They do so much more. This is the start of a series dedicated to all the amazing teachers out there.
They let you be you, they hear you out, and they help you become more of yourself.
They hold a safe space for you, invest their energy in you, and genuinely want to see you get better.
About My Thoughts on Yoga, Life & Everything In-Between
If you’re tired of yoga classes that chase trends instead of addressing your actual health, let’s talk. My practice isn't about 'Insta-perfect' poses; it’s about functional movement that targets real issues—like chronic back pain, sciatica, or the general stiffness that comes with a desk job. I use my 'spy eyes' on Zoom to fix your alignment in real-time, because what’s the point of practicing if you’re just going to hurt yourself?
We’ve turned something as profound as yog into a one-day hype train. Whether it’s 'International Yoga Day' or the latest fitness fad, most of it is just noise. Real practice? It’s boring sometimes. It’s hard. It’s showing up when you’d rather sleep, or when your back is acting up, and doing the work anyway.
My classes aren't for the 'do it for the gram' crowd. We work with what you have—a dupatta, a pillow, a water bottle. We focus on the 'why' before the 'how.' When I teach Hatha or Vinyasa, I’m not just counting breaths; I’m watching you through the screen to ensure your knees and lumbar spine are safe.
I’ve dealt with disc bulges and sciatica myself, so when I say we’re going to work around your pain, I’m not being generic. We address period pain, desk-job hunch, and weak cores with specific physiotherapy-based drills. My students are mostly working professionals and women who just want to move without pain. You don't need fancy gear or an expensive studio. You just need to show up, stop the excuses, and start moving with awareness.
