The Roda is where our class lessons transform into a living game. It is a circle of energy, music, and movement where we connect, sing, and play. Whether you are finding your rhythm or refining your kicks, this is where we build the tribe.

A throwback to the energy and connection from our last workshop and Roda in Indiranagar. The game is a physical dialogue between two players, full of strategy and respect.

A Friday night Roda at our Bangalore studio. This is how we end the week, by playing, singing, and sharing our energy together as a community.

A slow, chill Capoeira Roda on a Saturday morning. The game isn't always about speed; it can be a thoughtful and strategic conversation, allowing for creativity and flow.

A dynamic game between me and another instructor. The Roda is a space to challenge each other, learn from one another, and push our limits in a friendly competition.

A Capoeira game showcasing two of our talented instructors, Sucuri and Axe. Their play is a beautiful example of high-level skill, control, and creativity within the Roda.

An outdoor Roda de Capoeira, where we take our practice into the open air. The energy of the city and the crowd adds another layer to the game.

A throwback to a Roda de Capoeira in Bangalore from 2020. It's amazing to see how our community has grown, but the spirit of the game remains the same.

An outdoor Roda during a festival, with everyone gathered around to sing and clap. The collective energy of the group is what fuels the players in the circle.

About The Roda: Where We Play

If you think Capoeira is only about fighting, step into our Roda and you will see it is actually a conversation. It is a game of strategy, respect, and mutual energy. Even if you are a complete beginner, you do not need to worry about intensity—we start slow, focus on the flow, and ensure everyone feels comfortable while we keep the rhythm with traditional Afro-Brazilian instruments.

The Roda is the heart of everything we do. It is not a ring or a studio space in the traditional sense; it is a circle where the music, the players, and the history of Capoeira meet. When we form the circle, we create a temporary space where hierarchy disappears and the only thing that matters is the energy we share.

In our sessions across Bengaluru, we integrate everything. You will learn to play the Berimbau, Pandeiro, and Atabaque, which set the tempo for the game. The speed of the music dictates the game itself—if the Berimbau plays slow, the game is strategic and grounded; if it speeds up, the movement becomes explosive and dynamic.

You do not need prior experience to join. We run specific beginner-friendly rodas where the focus is on learning the Ginga (base step) and understanding how to interact with your partner without the pressure of full contact. Whether we are training at Red Brick Studio in Indiranagar or hosting an outdoor session in the park, the goal remains the same: to move, to sing in Portuguese, and to build community.

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian art form that balances the physical with the cultural. You will gain strength and flexibility, yes, but you will also learn about the history of resistance and friendship that defines this practice. Join us, find your flow, and see how quickly you start feeling the Axé.

I am Ravi, and I have lived and breathed Capoeira since I was 14. For me, this isn't about rigid belts or perfect form; it's about turning strangers into family. I want to see you find your own flow, have a laugh, and feel that energy in the Roda.
