Why I Started Aura Pilates
I opened Delhi’s first full Pilates studio in 2007, after years of pura din (all day) practicing and chasing that feeling of moving better. For me, this isn’t just fitness - it’s about community and making sure you feel seen and supported, no matter where you start.
How I See Pilates
Pilates is like dawa (medicine) for your whole self. It’s slow, controlled, and focused on doing things right - not just fast. I’m all about mindful movement classes that help you tune in to your body, not just squeeze out reps.
What to Expect
There’s this thing Joseph Pilates said that I live by: in 10 sessions you’ll feel the difference, 20 you’ll see it, and by 30 you’ll have a new body. I believe in that. I’m here to guide you - whether you’re a total newbie, a new mom needing gentle support (Pilates for postpartum recovery is a big one here), or you just want to move without pain.

My Story
You know, I was all set for a scientist’s life at IIT—then Australia happened. Aerobics grabbed me, didn’t let go. Came back, skipped the job, just kept moving to the music at home. Someone joined me, lost weight, pushed me to start teaching. 1991, my first class. 1996, learned Pilates from a master trainer. By 2007, opened my own Pilates studio in Delhi. Ab bas, yahi hai (this is it), no turning back.
