My Yoga Journey: Building Practice and Play
Yoga is not just about shapes on a mat. It is how I handled life's challenges, from my early days as a waiter to finding my voice. This is my journey through daily practice, play, and finding balance.
When yoga and football come together. Trying Hastapadangusthasana with a ball was so difficult to balance, but fun.
Getting better with editing. A little creative video of my practice in Goa. One love.
An evening slow practice. Just moving with the breath, finding some quiet time for myself on the mat.
Practice comes first. A silhouette of Virabhadrasana III (Warrior III) against the night sky.
The alignment of asanas should also help align our thoughts, speech, and action off the mat. Practicing Utthita Parsvakonasana.
Last month of the year. 1% everyday. 1 step everyday for our health and wellness. A silhouette of a variation of Parsvakonasana.
Practice has changed my life. It's like brushing your teeth or eating every day. It becomes a part of your routine.
About this collection
My philosophy is simple: show up. Whether you are tired, happy, or feeling stiff, just commit to 20 minutes. I used to be the shy guy who avoided photos, but yoga taught me that my imperfect is perfect. You do not need two hours to see progress, you just need consistency.
When I look back at my time trekking from Santacruz to Versova to Santacruz for odd jobs, yoga was the only constant. It was not about being perfect, it was about being present. That is the vibe I bring to my classes. Whether we are in the studio in Andheri West, Malad West, or connecting via Zoom, I want you to feel that same freedom.
More Than Just Poses
You might have seen photos of me balancing a football while doing Hastapadangusthasana. That is just how I bring 'play' into my practice. Life is too serious; your time on the mat should be where you let go. My Sadhana and Abhyasa batches are designed to meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.
My Teaching Philosophy
- Progress over Perfection: We focus on alignment and foundations. I use props like chairs and belts to make complex postures accessible to everyone.
- Real Feedback: Even in my online sessions, I watch the gallery view to give you verbal corrections. You are never just a face on a screen.
- Consistency: My monthly cycles are built to help you form a habit. We start with the basics and layer on difficulty as you get stronger.
If you have been waiting for a sign to start, this is it. It does not matter if you cannot touch your toes or if you have never stepped on a mat. Subko sub kuch nahe milta, but you can learn to be happy with what you have. Join me, and let us build your practice, one day at a time.
Ajinkya Meher
I wasn't always a yoga teacher; I was the guy hiding in the corner. Yoga pulled me out of my shell, and now I am here to help you find your own rhythm. Join me on the mat and let us move together.
