The Yogi's Life: Philosophy, Fun, and Flow
Yoga is more than just poses; it's about how you live your life. Here is a glimpse into my journey, where traditional Ashtanga discipline meets the freedom of an offbeat life.
Have you been delaying the idea of starting yoga? Sometimes all it takes is a little push to get started. Let's encourage each other to make self-care a priority.
To find the perfect workout for you, observe your energy levels. If you feel energized, you’ve nailed it. This montage shows my life in motion, from teaching to practice to exploring the world.
A little humor for my fellow Ashtanga practitioners. It's all about finding balance and moderation in our diet and lifestyle, and not being too hard on ourselves.
Wrapped in tradition, flowing in mindfulness. I carry my Indian roots with grace, taking the lessons of yoga from my home in Mumbai to the rest of the world.
Solo peace is the new flex. Sometimes the best practice is silence, self-love, and disconnecting to reconnect with yourself.
Yoga goes beyond poses; it's about becoming a better human. Through breath and movement, we cultivate patience, compassion, and self-love. I'm curious to know about your journey.
I never grew up in classrooms; the world was my teacher. This shaped how I see, feel, and live, and I carry that same sense of freedom into my teaching.
Two yogis, two souls, one rhythm. Sometimes the best practice is dancing on the beach with a friend, embracing presence, connection, and pure joy.
A moment borrowed by the lens. Beyond being a yoga teacher, I embrace all facets of my life, whether it's in a photo studio or on the mat.
We've all been there on our first day of yoga class. It's okay to need help; that's what teachers are for. Remember to have fun with the learning process.
About The Yogi's Life: Philosophy, Fun & Flow
You'll notice my Mysore-style sessions don't feature loud music or complex, flowy transitions. We focus on the traditional Ashtanga sequence, where I help you build your own rhythm one posture at a time. It is disciplined, yes, but it allows you to practice at a level that actually sustains you rather than exhausting you, whether you are joining from home or at my studio in Powai.
My practice is built on the Ashtanga lineage (parampara) I studied in Mysore. This isn't a class where you follow a video and guess your alignment. It is a traditional, self-led environment where I work with you individually to help you understand the breath, the postures, and when you are ready to progress to the next stage.
This method is effective because it honors where you are today.
Why Practice This Way?
- Authentic Tradition: As a Level 1 Authorised Ashtanga teacher, I guide you exactly as I was taught by my guru, Sharath Jois.
- Sustainability: By learning at your own pace, you avoid the injuries that often come from rushing into advanced postures.
- Holistic Approach: Yoga is a lifestyle. We talk about plant-based habits, nature, and how to carry the silence you find on your mat into the chaos of your daily life in Mumbai.
Who Is This For?
Whether you are a complete beginner who has never touched their toes, or a seasoned practitioner looking to deepen your discipline, you fit in. If you are in Mumbai, I run morning intensives in Powai. If you are traveling or based elsewhere, my online Mysore-style sessions provide the same quality of guidance through Zoom.
If yoga helps you grow into a better human, do it with wholehearted faith. If it does not, find what does. Your path is yours to walk, and I am here to help you navigate the journey.

I'm Sejal, a biker and traveler as much as I am a student of Ashtanga. My practice is guided by the tradition I learned in Mysore, but my teaching is defined by the freedom of the road. I'm here to help you find your own rhythm, whether that is on a yoga mat or in the quiet moments of your day.
