Slowing down is a practice in itself. In my restorative and Yin sessions, we use props to support the body, quiet the nervous system, and find true stillness. Join me to pause, breathe, and let go.

This is the heart of Yin Yoga. We use props like bolsters to support the body in gentle poses, allowing us to release deeply and connect our mind and body to our breath.

Balasana, or Child's Pose, is one of my favorite poses for rest. It gently stretches the spine, calms the mind, and allows us to turn inward and let go.

This weekend, move into a deep state of rest. This photo, taken from my perspective in Savasana, shows my students completely relaxed. This simple pose is powerful for recharging the nervous system.

Happy Easter. A moment of quiet reflection in a supported forward bend, using blocks and a bolster. Restorative yoga helps us find hope, joy, and gratitude in our lives.

Sunday vibes in the studio. This video shows students in a supported child's pose and other gentle forward bends, using bolsters and chairs to help them release and relax.

Reach your edge within the pose. In Yin yoga, we find a gentle stretch and then we soften, as seen here with students in a supported forward fold. It's about flexibility of the mind as much as the body.

We create our future with the thoughts we have today. This gentle flow from child's pose to a squat is a reminder to move with intention and mindfulness.

This weekend, relax and rejuvenate. Students resting in a supported legs-up-the-wall pose, using bolsters to create a feeling of bliss and ease.

A blissful Sunday Yin class. Students are using blocks and bolsters to support them in a deep forward fold, allowing them to surrender into the pose and find peace.

Even when weekends are hectic, I make time for my practice. This simple sequence of gentle, floor-based stretches helps to release my lower back and calm my mind.

About Deep Restoration: Yin & Restorative Yoga

I often say that props are our best friends in this practice. Whether it is a bolster to support your spine in a forward fold or wall ropes to safely deepen a stretch, these tools allow your muscles to fully release without strain. You do not need to be flexible to start; you just need to be willing to settle into the pose and let the support do the work for you.
