The Quiet Practice: Yin & Restorative Yoga Sessions
Balance your active lifestyle with the stillness of Yin and Restorative yoga. We use long, passive holds and prop-based support to release deep-seated tension and guide you toward a calm, meditative state.
This is what a Yin Yoga class looks like. Participants settle into a hip-opening flow, holding poses to release deep-seated tension and letting go of what is no longer needed.

About The Quiet Practice: Yin & Restorative Yoga
In our Yin and Restorative sessions, we move away from the 'no pain, no gain' mindset. Instead, we use bolsters, blocks, and straps to support your body so you can hold poses for longer, allowing deep connective tissues to release without force. This is not about achieving the perfect pose, but about creating space for your mind to settle and your nervous system to regulate.
In our busy Mumbai lives, we often live in 'Yang' mode—constantly moving, achieving, and doing. Our Yin and Restorative sessions offer the necessary counter-balance. We explore the stillness by holding passive postures for 3 to 5 minutes, allowing gravity and props to do the heavy lifting. This targets the fascia and connective tissues rather than just the muscles.
We draw from Daoist principles of meridians and Chi, blending them with Indian Tantric traditions to create a holistic experience. Whether you join us at our Ghatkopar studio or online, the focus remains on 'Sthira Sukham'—the balance of steadiness and comfort. You will learn to use bolsters, blocks, and straps not as crutches, but as tools to align your body, allowing the nervous system to shift from 'fight or flight' to 'rest and digest.'
This practice is not about flexibility. It is about surrender. You will find sessions that include Yoga Nidra and Ajapa Japa meditation techniques, designed to help you detach from the 'inner critic' and sit with your true self. For those looking to teach, our Yin Yoga Teacher Training provides the physiological and energetic theory to guide others safely through this deep, meditative practice. Join us to reconnect with your breath, your body, and your roots.
