Mindful Movement & Play: Yoga That Lets You Be Yourself
Move in ways that feel good, not forced. From the trust of partner-based Acro Yoga to deep, quiet Yin flows, this is a space to explore your body's capabilities without the need to perform.
Acro Yoga is a dance of trust, balance, and flow. It teaches us how we can rise by lifting others. Here's a beautiful moment of connection from a retreat in Coorg.
A glimpse into an Acro Yoga session. This practice combines yoga, acrobatics, and Thai massage, emphasizing communication and connection between partners. It’s as intimate and sweet as the music it’s set to.
Preparing the body for movement is just as important as the practice itself. Here, we are warming up with gentle stretches in a lush green setting before a capoeira session at a flow fest.
Embracing the morning sun with gentle, heart-opening stretches during an outdoor yoga session. Moving together in nature creates a powerful collective energy.
A moment of quiet gratitude during a sunny outdoor yoga practice. The Anjali mudra, or prayer hands at the heart center, is a gesture of reverence and inner connection.
Here I am guiding participants through assisted stretches. This helps to safely deepen the posture and release tension, fostering a sense of trust and support within the group.
A beautiful three-person Acro Yoga pose, showcasing collaboration and balance. I am spotting to ensure safety and proper alignment, creating a secure environment for everyone to fly.
About this collection
You do not need to be flexible or experienced to start here; you just need to be willing to show up. Whether we are practicing Acro Yoga in the grass or slow Yin flows in the morning, the goal is always the same: to move in ways that feel good for your body right now. If you are tired of counting reps or perfecting poses, these sessions offer a way to reconnect with yourself through movement that feels like genuine play.
True healing often happens when you stop trying to fix yourself and start listening to what you need. In this cluster, I focus on movement that serves the nervous system rather than the ego.
Why Mindful Movement Matters
Many of us live in a constant state of 'go', and standard gym workouts can sometimes just add more stress to an already taxed system. My approach to movement is different.
- Acro Yoga: This is about trust, communication, and play. When we support each other in flight, we learn to let go of the need for total control, which is incredibly liberating.
- Yin & Vinyasa Flows: These practices help you sink into the body. By slowing down, we allow the muscles to release deep-seated tension, helping you feel grounded and spacious.
- Nature as the Studio: We practice in places where you can hear yourself think—whether that is a farm in Coorg or an open field near Bangalore. Being barefoot on the earth changes your entire practice.
Who This Is For
You might be feeling burnt out, or perhaps you are just curious about how your body moves when it feels safe. You don't need to be in a 'good place' to begin. Whether you are coming alone or bringing a partner to try Acro, the space is held so you can explore your limits without pressure. Come as you are, and we will find the flow that your body is asking for.
Ashrita
I am Ashrita, and I host these spaces because I know what it feels like to carry a heavy load. My sessions aren't about achieving a new level or mastering a pose; they are about coming back to yourself, letting your nervous system exhale, and finding movement that actually feels like play.
