Nourish to Flourish: Healing Retreat Cuisine
Food is a pillar of my retreats. It is not just about what is on the plate, but how we eat, who we share it with, and how it makes us feel. Come, sit at our communal table.
A plate full of color and life. This is what nourishment looks like at my retreats: vibrant beetroot raita, fresh salads, and flavorful rice, all designed to be as delicious as it is healthy.
A top-down view of our communal dining table. Sharing meals together is a huge part of the retreat experience, a time for connection, laughter, and enjoying wholesome food.
The whole tribe gathered for dinner. The long table is filled with happy faces and empty plates, a testament to the delicious food and warm company.
Pouring herbal tea, a simple ritual that we practice throughout the day to stay hydrated and calm. The teas are often made with fresh herbs from the farm.
Two beautiful souls connecting over a nourishing meal. The friendships formed at these retreats are one of the most precious takeaways.
An artful spread of our retreat food. We offer a variety of dishes at each meal, including fresh salads, hearty dals, and perfectly cooked grains to satisfy all palates.
Even dessert is healthy and delicious! These are sugar-free, all-natural sorbets and ice creams in incredible flavors like Sitaphal Cacao Nibs and Passionfruit Pink Guava.
A participant helps to prepare fresh fruit. We often incorporate simple, mindful food prep into our days, connecting us to what we eat.
A perfectly balanced plate. This meal includes protein from the dal and scrambled paneer, complex carbs from the rice, and plenty of vitamins from the fresh salad.
Another beautiful spread, this time featuring some delicious looking pakoras. We believe in balance, and that includes enjoying soulful comfort foods.
About Nourish to Flourish: Our Retreat Cuisine
Everything you see here is prepared with intention—think vibrant, farm-to-table ingredients and Ayurvedic principles that support your gut health rather than just filling you up. We eat family-style, which means mealtime is not just about nutrition; it is a social ritual where we drop our guards and connect over shared herbal teas and hearty, healthy meals.
Why Food Matters on Retreat
I believe the kitchen is as sacred as the yoga mat. When you are tired or burnt out, your body craves real, grounded nourishment, not restriction. My approach to retreat cuisine is rooted in Ayurveda, prioritizing Sattvic, plant-forward meals that soothe your digestive system and calm your mind.
Our Approach to Dining
We do not count calories here. Instead, we focus on abundance. You can expect fresh salads, hearty dals, fermented foods, and colorful vegetables sourced locally whenever possible.
- Communal Connection: We sit together. This breaks the ice faster than any introduction round. When we share a plate, we share stories, laughter, and sometimes silence.
- Ritualized Eating: From morning herbal teas made with garden-fresh herbs to evening ceremonial cacao, we weave intention into every sip and bite.
- Balance: We do not believe in deprivation. If a healthy treat or a comforting dish brings joy, it has a place on our table.
Whether you are attending a rustic farm stay in Coorg or a luxury retreat, the food is designed to make you feel lighter and more like yourself. If you have specific dietary needs or simply want to know what a typical day of eating looks like during a stay, feel free to reach out. I would love to share more about how we feed the body and the soul.
