Yoga and Gymnastics Classes for Kids in Rajouri Garden
Screens taking over? Let’s change that. I turn yoga and gymnastics into fun games, helping kids build strength and focus while having a blast at our Rajouri Garden studio.
Here is a look inside our kids yoga summer camp. We work on a variety of poses, from foundational backbends like Ustrasana (Camel Pose) to playful variations, always with my close supervision to ensure every child feels supported and safe.
In this class, we are focusing on exercises to mobilize the spine and open the shoulders. These synchronized movements help children improve their back flexibility and body awareness, preparing them for more advanced yoga postures in the future.
Core strength is the foundation for almost every yoga and gymnastic move. Here, my students are practicing synchronized leg raises, a simple yet effective exercise for building abdominal strength and coordination in a group setting.
About Yoga for Kids
Unlike standard physical education, my kids’ sessions mix yoga asanas with gymnastics fundamentals like cartwheels and rolls. We don’t just drill postures. I use storytelling and balancing games to keep kids engaged, making sure they actually look forward to moving their bodies. Whether it is improving their posture or helping them burn off energy, I provide individual attention to every child so they learn to move safely and confidently.
Why Kids Need More Than Just Play
In a world where screens dominate, children need a way to reconnect with their bodies. My approach is simple: if it isn’t fun, they won’t do it. That is why I use games, balancing challenges, and storytelling to teach yoga and gymnastics. We focus on building core strength through moves like leg raises and flexibility through asanas like Ustrasana (Camel Pose), but it always feels like playtime, not a boring gym class.
What We Work On
- Strength & Agility: We use studio equipment like Swedish ladders, ropes, and professional crash mats to build coordination and confidence.
- Posture & Focus: Teaching mindfulness through breathwork helps kids improve their concentration, which often carries over to their schoolwork.
- Alignment: Because children are still growing, I provide hands-on spotting and correction to ensure every roll, flip, and stretch is done with perfect, safe form.
