Step away from the city chaos. Join me in the Himalayas to slow down, breathe, and heal through yoga, meditation, and the stillness of the mountains.

Our happy group after a refreshing forest walk. These moments of connection, surrounded by nature, are what make the retreat experience so special and healing for everyone.

Exploring the ancient caves in the jungles of Uttarakhand was a true adventure. It's amazing to see how yoga helps with flexibility, even when crawling through the tiniest of natural openings.

A glimpse of our outdoor pottery session. Here, under the open sky, everyone gets to connect with their creative side, molding clay and creating something beautiful with their own hands.

The feeling of accomplishment after a challenging hike is unmatched. We motivate each other to reach the top, where breathtaking views and a sense of shared victory await.

Participants engaging in a morning yoga session, stretching their bodies and preparing for a day of self-discovery. Each asana is practiced with mindfulness and intention.

Even the smallest creatures, like this little ladybug that visited our pottery session, remind us to slow down and appreciate the beauty in the details. Nature is our greatest teacher.

A quiet walk on a forest trail covered in fallen leaves. This is a form of moving meditation, where the only sounds are our footsteps and the rustling of leaves, allowing for deep introspection.

Facing fears and building trust during a rappelling activity. My retreats often include gentle adventures that push you out of your comfort zone in a safe and supportive environment.

A guided stretching session during our retreat. I focus on helping everyone listen to their bodies, moving with the breath to release tension and improve flexibility in a mindful way.

An outdoor morning yoga session where we practiced suryanamaskar to greet the sun. Practicing together in nature amplifies the energy and makes the experience deeply rejuvenating.

About Bodhichitta Retreats: The Full Experience

These retreats are not about luxury—we stay in simple, wood-paneled rooms, eat local organic meals cooked on wood fires, and embrace the mountain rhythm. You don't need advanced yoga skills, just a willingness to disconnect from digital noise and reconnect with yourself through pranayama, silent meditation, and forest trails.

I started Bodhichitta Retreats because I felt the need to escape the city and return to the land where I grew up. These aren't just holidays; they are an immersive healing journey designed to balance movement with stillness. Whether we are in the apple orchards of Kotkhai or the quiet forests near Nainital, the focus remains on living simply.

What to Expect

My approach is bilingual and rooted in my own journey—blending Hatha and Vinyasa yoga with pranayama, mantra chanting, and sessions like Jal Neti. You will find that our daily flow is not about looking perfect in a pose, but about healing and finding your true self. We incorporate pottery, nature walks, and evening bhajans to help you ground your energy.

Practical Details

  • Accommodation: We keep it rustic. Expect twin-sharing, wood-paneled rooms with basic amenities and beautiful valley views. There are no luxury hotel frills here, just the warmth of heavy blankets and mountain air.
  • Nutrition: All meals are pure veg, Sattvic, and cooked using organic ingredients like local lentils and seasonal vegetables.
  • Inclusivity: You do not need to be an expert to join. If you feel tired or curious about living differently for a few days, you will fit right in.

Ultimately, this is about providing a space for you to meet yourself. I guide, I don't preach. If you are ready for honest conversation and quiet, I invite you to join us.

Hi, I’m Manikarnika. I am a yoga teacher based in Delhi, but my heart lives in the hills where I host these retreats. I’m here to guide you back to yourself, whether that’s through a challenging Hatha flow or just laughing over dumb charades by the bonfire after a long trek.
