Guided Meditation and Breathwork Sessions in Santacruz
Finding balance in a busy city isn't easy. I combine simple breathwork and guided meditation to help you hit pause, reduce stress, and reconnect with yourself.
Let's take a moment together. In this short guided video, I walk you through a simple one minute breathing exercise to help you pause, reconnect with your breath, and carry a feeling of calm through your day.
In this tutorial, I explain how to practice Ujjayi breathing, also known as Ocean Breath. This powerful Pranayama technique helps to calm the nervous system and build focus by creating an audible, wave like sound with your breath.
If you're feeling anxious, your breath is your anchor. This video demonstrates four simple yet effective breathing techniques, including Box Breathing and Humming Bee Breathing, that you can use anytime to find immediate calm.
Meditation is a practice of breathing and relaxation that helps you find stillness within. I offer one on one sessions to guide you on your personal journey toward inner peace and mental clarity.
A moment of gratitude and connection during my personal practice. The Anjali Mudra, or prayer hands at the heart center, is a gesture of reverence and balance that I often incorporate into my meditation sessions.
My yoga classes for beginners and intermediate students always include elements of mindfulness. We flow through asanas to connect mind and body, and end each session with breathwork and meditation to integrate the practice.
About Guided Meditation & Breathwork
If you are new to meditation, I suggest starting with a Himalayan singing bowl sound bath. You do not need to sit perfectly still or clear your mind to participate. You simply lie down, listen, and let the gentle vibrations do the work, which provides an immediate way to reset your nervous system after a long week.
My Approach to Mindfulness
I do not believe meditation is about forcing your mind to go blank. Instead, we use specific tools to anchor your focus, which makes a world of difference when life feels loud.
Techniques We Explore
In my group sessions at the Balkan-ji-bari Community Hall in Santacruz West, we focus on Pranayama (breath control). We practice:
- Ujjayi (Ocean Breath): Excellent for calming the nervous system and building focus through audible, wave-like breathing.
- Nadi Shodhana: A rhythmic alternate nostril breathing technique to help balance your energy.
- Trataka: Candle gazing, which is a powerful way to sharpen concentration.
Sound Healing
My 1-on-1 sound therapy goes deeper. Using 7+ Himalayan bronze alloy bowls, I create a frequency-based sound bath. You simply lie down on a yoga mat with a head pillow, and I place the vibrating bowls near or on your body. The sensation of sound moving through your chest and stomach is an immediate, physical way to release deep-seated tension.
Getting Started
Whether you are attending a group Tuesday morning session or booking a private healing appointment, my goal is the same: to give you a tool you can take home. We keep the environment safe and unpretentious. If you have any specific stress points you are working through, let me know before we begin so I can tailor the breathing or sound sequence to your needs.
