Advanced Inversions and Aerial Yoga Training
Turn your practice upside down, safely. We combine traditional Hatha techniques with aerial hammocks and prop-based alignment to help you master inversions with stability and deep focus.
Welcome to our inversion workshop. Here, students learn safe and effective techniques for headstands and armstands using various props, including the wall and aerial hammocks, to boost clarity and strength.
A glimpse from our Headstand Workshop. I am providing hands-on guidance to a student, ensuring her alignment is safe and stable as she builds confidence in the inversion.
This poster details our comprehensive Headstand Workshop, which is open to all levels. The curriculum includes preparatory asanas, hands-on practice, and theory on the hypothalamus and pineal glands.
Our Headstand Workshop is a great introduction to the essence of our Teacher Training Course. We cover everything from physical preparation to the spiritual and scientific benefits of inversions.
Students practicing supported headstands against the wall during their teacher training internship. The wall provides a safe backup, allowing them to focus on alignment and breath while chanting.
This video shows a student practicing a tripod headstand with the support of an Iyengar chair. This prop is invaluable for learning the mechanics of the pose without putting pressure on the neck.
I break down the steps for entering a headstand (Sirsasana). The focus is on engaging the elbows, stabilizing the arms, and peacefully finding balance, one step at a time.
About this collection
We do not believe in forcing the body into a headstand. In our inversions workshops, we emphasize the Iyengar method of prop-based preparation—using chairs, walls, and belts—to understand the mechanics of Sirsasana before lifting your feet. This approach ensures you protect your cervical vertebrae while building the necessary upper body stability and core engagement to balance with ease.
Inversions are often misunderstood as mere physical feats. At Yogatute, we teach them as a pathway to quiet the mind and regulate the nervous system. Whether you are practicing a tripod headstand or utilizing an aerial hammock for spinal decompression, the goal remains the same: steadying the breath while the body is inverted.
The Science of Safety
We focus heavily on the anatomy of the pose. If you are struggling with a handstand or arm balance, it is usually because the mechanics of weight distribution are missing. We teach you how to engage your serratus anterior and triceps to stabilize the shoulder girdle, preventing unnecessary pressure on the neck. Safety bahut important hai, so we use wall support and rope wall (Kurunta) systems to build confidence before moving into free-standing variations.
Why Aerial Yoga?
Aerial hammocks provide a unique advantage for those struggling with traditional floor inversions. The fabric acts as a supportive partner, allowing you to experience the benefits of being upside down—increased blood flow to the brain and gentle spinal traction—without the fear of falling. This builds the muscle memory required for advanced floor asanas later on.
Beyond the Pose
True yoga is anushasan (discipline). While you will learn to master the physical alignment of inversions, we also weave in the philosophy of yoga. We look at how these postures affect the hypothalamus and pineal gland, and we integrate mantra chanting to maintain a meditative state even when you are balancing on your hands. This is not just a workout; it is a work-in. Join our sessions in Chamarajpet to move beyond the physical limits of your practice.
Yogatute Health
We are Yogatute Health Studio. We believe yoga is anushasan, not just physical flexibility, and our practice is defined by the blend of scientific alignment and ancient wisdom. We guide students to look inside themselves, using props to unlock the potential of the body while staying deeply grounded in tradition.
