Therapeutic Yoga & Prop-Assisted Practice
Yoga is discipline, not just fitness. We blend ancient wisdom with scientific precision to guide your healing journey through real, intentional practice.
I provide guided spinal traction using specialized ropes to create space between the vertebrae, offering relief for chronic conditions like sciatica and lower back pain. This video demonstrates a safe, controlled method we use in my therapy sessions to calm the nervous system and restore spinal health. Safety is always the first priority.
For hormonal imbalances like PCOD and diabetes, I use a combination of chair and belt yoga to make asanas accessible and effective. This sequence focuses on improving circulation and stimulating the endocrine system, helping the body find its natural balance without strain.
You don't always need special equipment for relief. Here, I demonstrate a simple yet powerful technique for frozen shoulder using a weighted bag, something you can find at home. This exercise helps to gently open the shoulder joint and chest, improving mobility and reducing pain.
The spine is the highway for Prana, our life force energy. I use specialized wooden props, inspired by the Iyengar tradition, for deep spinal rejuvenation. This supported backbend allows for a longer, restorative hold, releasing deep-seated tension and preparing the body for more advanced asanas safely.
This is a conversation with my student, Richa, about her postpartum recovery journey after a C-section. We discuss the importance of starting a mindful practice to heal, regain strength, and manage the physical and mental transitions of motherhood. Her experience shows that with proper guidance, the body can recover beautifully.
If you struggle with sleep, Bhramari Pranayama, or the bee breath, is a powerful tool. This simple breathing technique calms the mind and stimulates the production of melatonin, which helps induce restful sleep. I guide you through the correct way to practice it for maximum benefit.
Advanced poses like Halasana (Plow Pose) can seem intimidating, but with the right props, they become safe and accessible for everyone. Here, we use a Halasana box and shoulder supports to protect the cervical spine, reduce lower back strain, and allow the body to relax into the pose.
My Hatha Yoga Teacher Training program includes a strong emphasis on practical application and hands-on adjustments. Here, you can see my interns learning how to safely assist students in Dhanurasana (Bow Pose), ensuring proper alignment and a deeper, more effective backbend.
About Featured
You might assume yoga is just about bending or sweating, but we view it as a work-in, not a workout. Whether you are dealing with PCOD, sciatica, or need to realign your spine, we do not rush the process. We use props like chairs, ropes, and wooden bricks to support your body's specific needs, ensuring you can hold restorative poses longer and safely unlock deep healing without forcing your muscles.
Our practice is built on the philosophy of 'Anushasan' or discipline. We believe the body has an innate intelligence, but it often needs a nudge to return to balance. By integrating scientific concepts like spinal traction and the parasympathetic nervous system with traditional breathwork and mantras, we create a practice that addresses the root cause of discomfort rather than just the symptoms.
Why Props Matter
We treat props like belts, wall ropes, and wooden benches as essential tools for precision. They are not accessories; they are extensions of the teacher. These tools allow us to:
- Ensure Safety: Correct your alignment to prevent injury, especially if you have chronic pain or limited mobility.
- Deepen Practice: Access stretches that seem impossible on your own, helping you release deep-seated tension.
- Restorative Holds: Maintain poses long enough for the nervous system to switch from 'fight or flight' to rest and digest, which is critical for hormonal balance.
Our Focus Areas
We specialize in conditions where modern life often clashes with our biological needs. This includes:
- Therapeutic Yoga: Tailored sequences for PCOD, diabetes, and thyroid health. We focus on stimulating glands and improving circulation through specific asanas.
- Spinal Health: Using traction techniques to decompress the vertebrae, offering relief for conditions like sciatica and cervical spondylosis.
- Teacher Training: We offer comprehensive IYT-certified courses. Our training is not just about teaching poses but about understanding therapy, anatomical alignment, and the philosophy that supports them.
Whether you are a beginner looking to heal or a practitioner wanting to deepen your knowledge, we provide the environment to study the science of yoga in depth.
