Your spine is the highway for prana. I use targeted therapeutic sequences with props to decompress vertebrae, release nerve pressure for conditions like sciatica and cervical spondylosis, and restore natural alignment for a pain-free back.

This is a demonstration of spinal traction therapy for sciatica pain, a technique we teach in our Yoga Therapy course. Two instructors work together to apply gentle, consistent force, creating space in the lumbar spine and relieving pressure on the sciatic nerve.

A live therapy case during our teacher training course, focusing on complete spinal health. We are addressing the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions using a belt and chair to provide gentle traction and correct posture.

For cervical pain, gentle traction is key. I am demonstrating how to use a belt to support the neck and create space, without applying forceful pressure. This technique helps relieve compression in the cervical vertebrae.

A healthy spine is the foundation of well being. In this class, students are using wooden back-bending props for a supported spinal extension, a core part of my therapeutic approach to improving posture and flexibility.

Understanding the anatomy of breath is crucial. Here, I am explaining the connection between the heart, lungs, and breath to my students. Never miss the breath, no matter how complicated the stretch.

This is a partner-assisted chest opening exercise for spinal health. Using a stick for leverage allows for a deep, controlled stretch across the thoracic spine, improving posture and releasing tension.

This supported restorative pose on a wooden bench is excellent for addressing thyroid issues, sleep disorders, and spinal health. By elevating the chest and allowing the head to relax back, we stimulate the throat chakra and calm the nervous system.

A spinal twist is essential for releasing tension. Here, I am guiding a student in Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) using a stick to ensure proper alignment and deepen the twist, which helps to detoxify the spine.

Using the wall for support is a fundamental aspect of my practice. This simple wall stretch helps to open the shoulders and chest, correcting rounded posture and preparing the spine for deeper work.

A simple wall-supported lateral stretch. This asana helps to lengthen the sides of the body and create space between the ribs and vertebrae, improving spinal flexibility and breathing capacity.

About Spinal Health & Pain Relief

My approach isn't just about bending. We focus on anushasan—discipline—to safely decompress the spine using wall ropes, wooden benches, and bricks. Whether you are dealing with sciatica, cervical spondylosis, or chronic back pain, we don't just stretch; we create space between the vertebrae. You will see these props in every session because they provide the leverage needed for precise alignment without forcing your body.
