Come for the clay, stay for the calm. Whether you are a total beginner or just need a mindful break from the screen, my studio is a space to slow down, get your hands dirty, and create something real.

This is what therapy looks like. A student finds their focus, carving intricate patterns into a hand-built bowl. Our workshops are a space to disconnect from the noise and reconnect with your own creativity.

From a lesson at the wheel to weaving with clay and loading the kiln, our studio is always buzzing with activity. This is a glimpse into the many ways you can get your hands dirty and create something beautiful with us.

Watch as a student meticulously carves out a stunningly intricate luminary. This hand-building technique requires patience and a steady hand, transforming a solid form into a delicate, light-filled sculpture.

The final touch of magic is onglazing. Here, students apply color to their creations, painting delicate flowers and patterns. This is the last step before the kiln works its magic, transforming the pigments into a vibrant, permanent finish.

A moment of pure fun and creativity in the studio. A student paints a quirky face on their hand-built pot, bringing a playful character to life with each brushstroke.

Our two-day sculpture workshop is an immersive journey into creating with clay. This poster showcases the beautiful female forms that participants can learn to sculpt, focusing on anatomy and expression.

Let there be light. Our ceramic lamp workshop is one of our most popular, where students design, build, and glaze their own unique lamps. This video shows a few of the amazing, functional art pieces that have come out of it.

About this collection

Don't worry about getting your hands dirty—it is part of the process. I guide you through the entire journey, from centering the clay on the wheel to the final glaze, so you will leave with your own handmade piece, not just a lesson.

A Space to Slow Down

My studio isn't a classroom in the traditional sense; it is a sanctuary. Whether you join me at my primary studio in Kodathi Gate, Bengaluru, or catch me during one of my pop-up workshops in Chennai, the focus remains the same: disconnecting from the noise to reconnect with your creativity.

What You Will Learn

I offer a variety of sessions tailored to different curiosities:

  • Hand-Building & Sculpting: Perfect for those who want to build figures, leaf dishes, or functional art without the wheel. We explore textures, forms, and the beauty of raw clay.
  • Wheel Throwing: The rhythmic, spinning nature of the wheel is where many find their 'clay therapy.' I walk you through the mechanics of centering and shaping.
  • Ceramic Painting: If you prefer working with pre-made pieces, you can focus purely on the art of glazing and painting, adding your own character to bowls and mugs.

The Process

Pottery is a slow craft. After our session, your pieces go through a long drying phase followed by a high-heat firing in the kiln. This process ensures your creations are durable and ready for your home. While you might see a fingerprint or a warped edge, that is the charm of handmade work—each piece carries the specific energy you poured into it.

No prior experience is necessary. I provide all the materials, and all you need to bring is a curious heart.

I am Madhumita. I left my corporate life to find myself in clay, and now, I invite you to do the same. This isn't just a workshop—it is a quiet space where we trade screens for soil and busy minds for messy hands.
