About Our Workshop Announcements
You do not need to bring a thing except an open mind. We provide all the clay, tools, and aprons for our sessions. Whether you are aiming to make a bowl on the wheel or experimenting with slab work, every piece you create gets fired and glazed in our studio. Your finished ceramic piece will be ready for you to collect within 3 to 4 weeks.
Pottery at Maati Sona

Choose Your Path
We offer a few ways to start your journey depending on your time and commitment:
- The Weekend Escape: If you just want a taste of clay, our 1-day or 2-day workshops are perfect. These are ideal for couples, friends, or anyone looking to destress for a few hours. We cover basic wheel throwing or hand-building techniques like pinching and coiling.
- The 10-Day Deep Dive: For those who want to learn properly, our 10-day course is spread across weekends. We move from the basics of centering on the wheel to design thinking and complex glazing techniques. You get unlimited studio clay during class hours and enough time to actually practice.
What You Take Away
Unlike many hobby classes, we handle the technical side. We trim, glaze, and double-fire your pieces up to 1200 degrees Celsius to ensure they are food-safe and durable. You are not just making a craft project; you are making something you can actually use in your kitchen or decorate your home with.
Everything happens in our small groups of 6 to 10 people. This helps us ensure that everyone gets personal attention, whether you are struggling to center the clay on the wheel or need help with a specific hand-building shape.
Maati Sona
I am Arunima, the hands behind Maati Sona. When I started this, I wanted a space that felt like a quiet pause in the middle of Bangalore's rush, a place where getting your hands dirty is the whole point. Whether you are here for a quick weekend escape or a deep-dive course, my team and I are just here to help you enjoy the process of creating something with clay.
