About Awards & Event Gallery
I treat every concert—whether it's an intimate house baithak or a major festival like the Megh Malhar at Nehru Centre—as a sacred space. My goal is always to listen, respond, and ensure the music breathes, which is why I insist on thorough sound checks and scale alignment with vocalists or instrumentalists well before the event begins.
For me, being a tabla player is about the constant pursuit of 'sangat' (accompaniment). Whether I am performing at a prestigious venue like the NCPA or Prithvi Theatre, or playing for a private devotional gathering, the preparation remains the same.
My work spans a variety of settings:
- Concert Performances: I am privileged to perform across India, from the vibrant festivals in Kerala to the heritage halls in Mumbai and Pune. Each poster in this gallery represents a conversation with an audience and a deep musical connection with the main artist.
- Traditional Solo Recitals: When I take the stage for a solo performance, I focus on the intricacies of the Purab Gharana—exploring Kaydas, Relas, and Chakradhars. These moments are where I push my riyaz to the limit.
- Professional Standards: Whether the requirement is for a mic-less acoustic performance or a large-scale setup for a corporate gala, I come prepared. This includes ensuring the tabla skins are tuned perfectly for the venue's acoustics and that I am in sync with the sound engineer.
I believe that music should be accessible and authentic. I don't just show up to play; I show up to be a part of the evening. If you are looking for a tabla artist who values the technical discipline of Hindustani classical music as much as the emotional connection with the audience, I would be happy to discuss your event requirements.
Tejovrush Joshi
I’m Tejovrush, and for me, the tabla isn’t just an instrument; it’s my way of connecting with something bigger. I’ve been fortunate to share the stage with incredible musicians and my own Aai, and I believe every performance is a chance to celebrate the magic of rhythm.
