Tabla Solo Recitals and Festival Performances
I believe every stage, from historic auditoriums to vibrant festival platforms, is a space for a new musical conversation. Here is a glimpse of the concerts, jugalbandis, and solo recitals I have been fortunate to be part of.

About this collection
Every concert performance is a unique exchange. Whether I am delivering a solo recital focused on the rhythmic intricacies of the Faroukhabad Gharana or collaborating with melodic artists in a jugalbandi, the music must breathe with the room. I prepare specifically for each venue, adjusting my approach for the acoustic environment of a large auditorium like the Bangalore Gayana Samaja versus the close, tactile energy of a festival stage.
My performance journey has taken me from the Bangalore International Centre for sitar-led explorations to the Bagalkot Rashtreeya Sangeetotsava. Each stage presents a different challenge, and I enjoy adapting to these variations.
Types of Performances
- Classical Solo Recitals: These are the backbone of my work. I focus on pure Faroukhabad Gharana aesthetics, showcasing the depth of rhythmic calculations, Tihai patterns, and the evolution of tempo from Vilambit to Drut.
- Jugalbandi & Fusion: I love the unpredictable nature of these shows. Blending Hindustani and Carnatic styles requires more than just technique; it requires listening. Whether it is a flute jugalbandi with the Godkhindi brothers or a violin duet with the Mysore Brothers, the aim is to create a seamless dialogue where rhythm and melody become one.
- Classical Accompaniment: Supporting a vocalist or an instrumentalist is an art of restraint and anticipation. My role here is to provide a steady, supportive foundation that elevates the lead artist's performance without overpowering the mood.
Venue Adaptability
I treat every performance, whether it is a prestigious festival or an intimate gathering, with the same level of preparation. If you are planning a musical event, please note that I am comfortable performing in diverse acoustic settings, from open-air festivals to traditional concert halls. I handle the technical coordination for my setup, ensuring the tabla tuning is precise for the specific atmosphere of your venue.
