About Live Tabla Performance
Where Tabla Feels Like Home
I’m a tabla artist from Mumbai, and for me, playing tabla is more than just music. It’s my meditation, my way to feel connected with something bigger. I’ve been lucky to learn from my gurus and share the stage with some incredible musicians, including my own Aai (mother), Vidushi Shalmalee Joshi.
What I Offer
- You’ll find me at all sorts of events – from a tiny baithak (house concert tabla recital) to a big stage show. I love both.
- I do tabla solo performances, where I play traditional stuff like Kayda, Rela, Chakradhar, and explore taals. Usually, I add a lehra or nagma as a simple melody in the background.
- My accompaniment game is strong. Whether it’s khayal, bhajan, or thumri, I tune in to what the main artist needs – tabla accompaniment for vocalists and instrumentalists alike.
- There’s something fun about jugalbandi. I often join other percussionists for a tabla jugalbandi live session, and yeah, it gets intense!
More Than Just Classical
My base is Indian classical percussion show, but I mix in improvisation and sometimes just go with the vibe of the moment. I also play devotional tabla performance for religious or spiritual gatherings.
Where to Catch Me
Mumbai is home, but I travel across India and abroad. House concerts, temples, auditoriums, or even virtual gigs – sab chalta hai (everything works).

My Story
Hey, I’m Tejovrush from Mumbai. Tabla is my world, my peace, my way to connect with something bigger. Born into a musical family, with Aai singing beautifully and Baba always cheering me on, I got lucky. Sharing the stage with my Aai? Pure joy! My gurus and seniors have shaped me, and every concert is a celebration. I travel, I learn, I play cricket sometimes— but it’s always the bols and rhythms calling me back. The magic’s in the journey.
My Work
Tabla for Live Performances - I play traditional tabla solo, support Hindustani vocalists, and perform percussion duets at concerts, festivals, and private baithaks.
Accompaniment Philosophy - For me, sangat is key. I listen and respond to the artist’s emotions, making each performance a true musical conversation.
Experience & Recognition - Played at Prithvi Theatre, Nehru Centre, toured UK, and received the Pandit Shantaram Chigri Avartan Yuva Puraskar. Every stage is an honor.
