Playful Kids Yoga Classes in Powai
I believe yoga is for every age. In my shala, we turn poses into playtime, helping children discover their strength, focus, and inner quiet in a way that feels natural and joyful.
Tiny yogis, big smiles. Guiding our youngest students through their practice is one of the most joyful parts of my work.
Our little yogis practicing Adho Mukha Svanasana (Downward-Facing Dog). It's wonderful to see them build strength and awareness from a young age.
Tiny toes, big dreams. Our kids' yoga class ends with a peaceful Savasana, teaching them the importance of rest and stillness.
Nurturing mind, body, and spirit with our engaging and playful kids' yoga classes. Here they are, finding their inner puppy in Downward Dog.
A young yogi finds his center in a seated meditation pose. It's never too early to learn the power of a quiet mind.
Tiny toes, mighty poses. This little one shows us the flexibility and peace found in Supta Virasana (Reclined Hero Pose).
A young student sits peacefully in Padmasana (Lotus Pose), showing a natural connection to mindfulness.
Even our youngest students can find deep rest. This little girl is in Supta Virasana, a pose that stretches the thighs and ankles.
"I woke up this cute." This little yogi finds her rest, proving that yoga is for every heart and every mood.
About Playful Poses for Little Yogis
We do not just teach poses here, we play them. Whether it is 'flying' in a balance pose or finding stillness in a quiet moment, I guide your child to connect with their body through storytelling and animal imitations that make the practice feel like a game rather than a strict lesson.
Yoga at a young age is about so much more than flexibility. In our Powai studio, I focus on helping children build a foundation that supports them through their growing years.
Why This Practice Matters
School bags are heavy, and digital screens often mean kids spend hours hunched over. My sessions specifically address this, using targeted movements to correct posture, strengthen the spine, and improve motor skills. We also weave in Tratak (concentration techniques) and simple breathwork to help them find a sense of calm amidst the energy of childhood.
The Gamified Approach
I have seen that children learn best when they are engaged and having fun. That is why we use animal imitations and stories to teach complex asanas. A Downward Dog is not just a stretch, it is a fun pose that builds strength and awareness. Padmasana becomes a moment of quiet focus. By making the practice playful, I help them build a relationship with yoga that is sustainable and positive.
What to Expect
Each session is designed to last 45 to 60 minutes, which is the sweet spot for younger attention spans. I keep our batches small, with only 8 to 15 students, so I can ensure every child is safe and supported. Whether your child is a complete beginner or looking for a way to stay active, my goal is to provide a space where they feel seen, heard, and encouraged to be themselves.
