I don't just watch you from the front of the room. My approach involves manual hands-on adjustments, providing the gentle tactile feedback you need to safely deepen a stretch or find stability in an inversion. These moments of guidance help you move beyond the surface of a pose, ensuring your practice is both safe and attuned to your specific body's needs.
Your Practice, Your Pace
Yoga at Svādhyāya is not about achieving the perfect shape on day one. It is about understanding your own body. In my sessions, we prioritize alignment over depth. If you are struggling with a posture, we do not force it; we find a way to support it. Whether it is using cork blocks to bring the floor closer in a forward fold or using a strap to help open the shoulders, props are our allies. They allow you to hold a pose for longer, which is where the real learning happens.
Why Personal Guidance Matters
When you practice in a group, it is easy to get lost in the flow. My role is to make sure you are not just mimicking the person next to you. I focus on subtle cues—breathing into the side ribs, rooting through the heels, or softening the jaw—that change the quality of your practice. These small, consistent corrections are what build long-term strength and prevent injury.
Connecting with Your Body
I believe in 'svādhyāya' or self-study. My goal is to teach you how to listen to your body’s signals. If your muscles are shaking, that is just information. If you feel tightness in your lower back, we adjust. By combining Hatha and Ashtanga Vinyasa techniques with individualized attention, we create a practice that serves you exactly where you are today. You are welcome here, regardless of your experience or flexibility.
