I don't just teach poses; I teach you how to feel them. In my classes, we use gentle, hands-on adjustments to help you align correctly, prevent injury, and find the depth you did not know you had.

Assisting a student in a deep split pose, Hanumanasana, requires careful support to protect the muscles while encouraging greater flexibility.

With my guidance, this student works on her standing split, Svarga Dvijasana (Bird of Paradise Pose), improving both balance and hamstring flexibility.

A joyful moment of achievement. I'm here to support my students as they reach new heights in their practice, like this beautiful standing split.

Using the wall for support is a great way to build confidence in inversions. I provide hands-on assistance to ensure proper alignment and safety in this supported headstand.

The yoga wheel is a fantastic tool for opening the back. Here, I'm helping a student use the wheel to safely deepen her backbend and release tension in the spine.

In this assisted Eka Pada Rajakapotasana (One-Legged King Pigeon Pose), I help the student open her chest and shoulders while using a block for stability.

A smile of accomplishment in a deep hip-opening pose. My role is to provide the support needed to help you comfortably explore your body's limits.

About this collection

You might wonder if hands-on assistance is for you, especially if you are a beginner. My approach is simple: I use verbal cues first, then provide gentle physical adjustments only when necessary to guide your body safely into a pose. It is not about pushing you beyond your limits, but helping you understand the structure of the posture so you can practice independently with confidence, whether that is a simple forward fold or a complex inversion.

Why Alignment Matters

Many students come to me worried about 'doing it right.' In the studio, alignment is not about looking like a picture in a magazine. It is about stacking your joints and engaging the right muscles to protect your spine and knees. When I assist a student—whether in a deep backbend or a challenging headstand—my goal is to help them feel the space in their own body.

Tools for Precision

We do not just rely on hands. We use props to create the correct geometry for your specific body type:

  • Yoga Wheels: Perfect for opening the chest and releasing tension in the thoracic spine.
  • Blocks & Bricks: Essential for maintaining stability in standing poses, ensuring you don't overreach.
  • Wall Ropes & Chairs: Used for therapeutic sessions to allow for deeper, supported stretches without straining your muscles.

Safe Progress

My classes at our Brookefield, Varthur, and Belathur studios are mixed-level. This means I always have the capacity to give you individualized attention. If you are struggling with a specific inversion or feel stiff in your hamstrings, I am there to provide the bridge between your current level and your goal. You will find that with the right support, your body naturally opens up—there is no need to force it. Come prepared to work hard, listen to your breath, and leave with a steady, calm mind.
