Architecture is an orchestra of decisions. We invite you into the behind-the-scenes journey of building a home, where initial sketches evolve through site analysis, material discovery, and hands-on craftsmanship.

Our process is an orchestra of decisions. Here, our team is on-site, discussing the texture and finish of a stone wall with the masons, ensuring every detail aligns with our design intent.

The journey of a material begins at its source. We visit quarries to handpick the stone for our projects, selecting blocks with the right color, tone, and character to tell the story of the building.

The hands of our master model maker, Vijay, meticulously crafting a detail. Physical models are a critical tool for us to study scale, proportion, and the play of light before construction begins.

We work closely with local artisans to integrate traditional crafts into our contemporary designs. These wooden figures are prototypes being developed with craftsmen in Hampi for an upcoming project.

A glimpse of a mock-up review at our Awas site. We build full-scale sections of our designs to test materials, finishes, and construction techniques, leaving nothing to chance.

This animated diagram shows the structural build-up of our Awas House, from the foundation to the hybrid system of concrete, dry walls, and a lightweight timber roof structure.

An architect inspects a mock-up of a random rubble stone wall on site. This hands-on approach ensures the final quality of craftsmanship meets our exacting standards.

The master mason stands proudly by his work. We see craftsmen not just as laborers, but as essential collaborators in the architectural process, and we value their skill and knowledge.

A detailed wooden model exploring the scale of a courtyard and a floating pavilion inspired by the 'kunds' or temple tanks of Hampi. Models help us and our clients visualize the space three-dimensionally.

About Our Process: From Concept to Craft

Refining a design through physical models and on-site mock-ups is how we ensure your home feels right before construction begins. We encourage our clients to join us during these phases; touching the stone textures or walking through a full-scale wall mock-up gives you a tangible understanding of the space that drawings alone simply cannot capture.
