Modern Indian Homes Rooted in Tradition and Nature

We believe a home is a living story that grows with you. Our residential work focuses on climate-responsive design, blending modern living with the timeless warmth of Indian architecture.

This bedroom is designed as a tranquil retreat, where the morning sun filters through timber lattices, creating a dynamic play of light and shadow. The space opens onto a modern 'jharokha' or enclosed balcony, featuring a traditional swing, blurring the line between the comfort of the indoors and the serenity of the outdoors.

We believe a home should be in dialogue with its surroundings. This multi-generational residence in Nagpur, 'The Light House', uses operable timber screens and staggered balconies to create privacy and shade, while remaining connected to the life of the neighborhood.

A floating staircase becomes a sculptural element against a wall of glass, dissolving the boundary between the home and the lush tropical garden outside. This design for 'The Tropical House' is a direct expression of our passion for creating homes that live and breathe with nature.

Inspired by the traditional Indian 'wada' or courtyard house, this multi-level atrium forms the heart of the home. Clad in warm timber, it creates visual and aural connections across floors, allowing light and life to flow through the entire structure, fostering a sense of togetherness for the family.

For 'The Leaf House', a weekend retreat, the form of the building itself was inspired by nature. The organic, leaf-shaped concrete shells shelter the living spaces while opening up to the landscape, creating a home that feels like a natural extension of its environment.

As night falls, 'The Light House' transforms into a warm beacon against the city skyline. The design ensures that the home feels just as inviting and alive after sunset, with carefully planned lighting that highlights its architectural form and the life within.

This apartment facade is our climate-responsive philosophy in practice. Deep, staggered balconies provide shade to the floors below, and elegant aluminum slats filter the harsh sun, ensuring the living spaces within remain cool and comfortable without sacrificing light.

About this collection

Our process begins with a rigorous study of your specific site, particularly how the sun moves and the wind flows throughout the year. For example, in our Nagpur 'Light House' project, we integrated operable timber screens and a central atrium to ensure the entire residence remains naturally ventilated and bright, reducing the reliance on artificial cooling and lighting systems.

Architecture is not just about walls and roofs. It is an orchestra of elements where the choice of a stone quarry, the patience of a mason, and the placement of a window work in harmony. We look to the past to solve the problems of the present. By reimagining traditional typologies like the 'wada' courtyard house or the 'jharokha' enclosed balcony, we create homes that offer privacy, shade, and a sense of wonder.

Climate as Our Co-Designer

We do not fight the weather; we work with it. Whether it is a luxury villa in Alibaug or an urban apartment in Mumbai, our approach remains the same. We prioritize passive cooling strategies. This might mean designing deep, staggered balconies to cast shadows on the floors below or using aluminum slats to filter harsh glare while letting in soft, diffused light. We treat nature as a collaborator, building around existing trees and ensuring that every room has a connection to the outdoors.

Materiality and Craft

We believe that the materials we touch every day hold memories. We obsess over the details, often visiting quarries to hand-select timber grains or stone lots. Our collaborations with artisans—whether for banana fibre accents or black pottery installations—ensure that your home feels grounded and authentic. Our role is to facilitate a space where you can think clearly, create freely, and live with the stories that matter to you. If you are looking for a residence that values sustainability as much as aesthetics, we are here to build it with you.
