Our Design Process: From Sketch to Structure
Architecture is a journey, not just a final result. Here is a look behind the scenes at how we bring our concepts to life, from the first line on paper to the final site finish.
This is the original concept sketch for the Solaris project. The drawing illustrates our initial idea for angling the towers at 45 degrees to maximize cross ventilation and airflow throughout the complex, a core principle that defined the final design.
A project begins with a single line. This image juxtaposes a rough initial sketch of a building's form against a detailed rendering, illustrating the journey from a simple concept to a fully realized architectural vision.
The details matter. This video shows our hands on approach during a site visit, where we are working out the precise layout for a complex hexagonal tile pattern to ensure the final installation is perfect.
Designing dreams is not a quiet process. This video captures the energy of a site under construction, from our team members discussing details and marking up walls to the skilled craftsmen who bring our designs to life.
Selecting the right materials is a critical step in our design process. Here, we are at a marble supplier in Gurugram, personally inspecting large slabs of natural stone to find the perfect variety and pattern for one of our luxury projects.
We are exploring a world of colors and textures at a supplier's showroom. This is where we immerse ourselves in different finishes and materials, gathering samples to create the perfect palette for an upcoming interior design project.
In collaboration with Architectural Digest and Ultratech Cement, we explored innovative materials for facade design. This video discusses how we used Very Amazing Concrete (VAC) to create a unique, lightweight, and durable facade panel called 'Circularity'.
For a luxury residence at Marine Drive, choosing the right windows was crucial for noise reduction and durability against the sea air. In this testimonial, we share our experience selecting Tostem windows after visiting their experience center.
About The Design Process: From Sketch to Structure
While digital renders show the dream, the real design happens on site. We spend as much time inspecting marble slabs for the perfect vein or calculating the precise angle of a building for cross-ventilation as we do at our drawing boards. Every inch matters, and we believe a space is only successful if it works perfectly for your lifestyle.
For us, architecture is about more than just aesthetics. We approach every project as a conversation between the site, the function, and the future occupant. Take our work on the Solaris project, for instance. Instead of settling for a standard grid layout, we angled the towers at 45 degrees. This was a technical necessity to ensure every apartment received consistent natural light and cross-ventilation.
Our process is heavily focused on materiality and construction reality. When we source marble or evaluate new facade materials like lightweight concrete, we aren't just looking at the surface. We are testing for durability, maintenance, and how the material ages over time. We dislike 'filler' design, that awkward approach where spaces are just crowded to occupy room. If a detail doesn't serve a purpose or solve a problem, it doesn't make it into our plans.
We also manage the technical complexities that clients often don't see. Whether it is integrating acoustic windows for a sea-facing Marine Drive apartment or structural planning for large-scale township master plans, our goal is to build spaces that feel human, lived-in, and timeless. We don't chase trends; we build for the next twenty years.
