Yoga is more than physical postures; it is a path to freedom. Explore these tutorials on technique, breathwork, and the ancient philosophy that guides every session.

Ready to fly? This is my tutorial for the intermediate level of Kakasana (Crow Pose). I explain how to shift your weight and engage your shoulders to find balance. Consistent practice is the key.

Did you know that practicing pranayama incorrectly can cause more harm than good? I explain a shloka from the Hatha Yoga Pradipika about the importance of correct breathing techniques to avoid issues and truly heal the body.

Ancient texts like the Upanishads teach that pranayama should be practiced under a guru's guidance, just like taming a wild animal. I explain why controlling the breath requires a slow, careful, and guided approach.

In this video, I'm teaching the technique for Chinstand (Gandabherundasana) without props. I break down how to use your strength and lift with control, making this advanced inversion accessible to dedicated practitioners.

About The "Why" Behind the "How": Philosophy & Tutorials

Many students jump into advanced arm balances or pranayama without understanding the mechanics, often leading to more stress or injury. I teach the 'how'—like shifting your weight for Kakasana or controlling breath in pranayama—but more importantly, I explain the 'why' from traditional texts, ensuring you practice with safety and purpose rather than just mimicking a pose.

Yoga is not a religion or a set of fancy clothes; it is an inward practice of freedom—azadi. In my studio, we don't just 'do' yoga; we study the science behind it. Whether you are learning an intermediate variation of Kakasana (Crow Pose) or mastering the Gandabherundasana (Chinstand), the process remains the same: focus on alignment, breath, and structural control.

The Importance of the 'Why'

When I quote the Hatha Yoga Pradipika or the Upanishads, it isn't just for theory. Ancient texts warn us that pranayama practiced without guidance—ayukta abhyasa—can lead to Vata imbalance, causing headaches, anxiety, or palpitations. Just as you would not tame a wild elephant without training, you should not play with your breath without understanding the technique. My tutorials are designed to help you practice safely, whether you are in my Ghatkopar studio or joining online.

Building a Sustainable Practice

My teaching style is built on a 3-step approach: observation, demonstration, and hands-on adjustment. We utilize Iyengar-inspired props like wall ropes, blocks, and belts not as shortcuts, but as tools to understand your own body's limits. We focus on:

  • Ashtanga Vinyasa: To build heat and stamina.
  • Pranayama: To steady the mind before it settles into meditation.
  • Injury Management: Using specialized routines for back pain, cervical issues, or PCOD.
