Inversions are not just about showing off; they are about freedom from fear. Whether you are finding your balance in our Ghatkopar studio or on the cliffs of the Sahyadris, I teach you to find safety and stillness upside down.

A glimpse into our Ghatkopar studio, where students work on various asanas, from arm balances like Ashtavakrasana to inversions like pole-assisted headstands.

Guiding a student through Padma Bakasana (Lotus in Crane Pose), an advanced arm balance that transitions from a headstand. This requires immense core strength and balance.

A class focused on arm balancing, featuring students practicing handstands and chinstands. We build the foundational strength and alignment needed to fly.

Finding a moment of peace and a new perspective with a headstand on Sondai fort. Yoga is not confined to the mat; it's a way of connecting with nature and myself.

I love practicing inversions anywhere, anytime. Here's a headstand on Sondai fort, overlooking the Morbe Dam. Facing your fears is the only way to conquer them.

Students practicing Sirsasana (headstand) variations in our Powai studio. We focus on building a stable foundation to hold the pose with ease and control.

An inversion at sunset. Practicing a headstand in nature, with the sky as my canvas, is a form of meditation and gratitude.

A group headstand with my students at Korigad Fort. Sharing our practice and love for yoga and the mountains is what our community is all about.

Peak happiness is finding balance in nature. A headstand on a bridge over a river at sunset is a perfect moment of connection and tranquility.

Keep calm and engage your core. A student practices a tripod headstand variation, building the strength and control needed for more advanced inversions. across the green meadows of the Sahyadris. Nature is the best yoga mat.

About Mastering Inversions: From Studio to Summits

Inversions are rarely about brute strength; they are about alignment. In my classes, we use specific props like wall ropes and blocks to break down the mechanics of a headstand so you are not just flailing, but learning to control your center of gravity. Whether we are practicing at the Ghatkopar studio or out on a trek, the goal remains the same: steadying your breath so you can hold the pose without fear.

Why Flip Your Perspective?

Inversions like Sirsasana (headstand) are often treated as the cool poses to post on social media. But for me, they are a practice of freedom—azadi from the fear of falling. When you turn upside down, the world changes. You face the blood rushing to your head, the instability, and the urge to rush back down. My teaching focuses on overriding that panic. It is not just about the pose; it is about finding sthirata (stability) in the chaos.

The Step-by-Step Approach

I do not believe in just trying. If you are a beginner, we start with the wall and ropes to understand spinal traction. We do not jump into handstands. We build core strength through Ashtanga vinyasa and arm balances like Bakasana first.

  • Foundation: We focus on wrist strength, shoulder opening, and core engagement before we ever take your feet off the ground.
  • Props: We use Iyengar-style wall ropes, blocks, and belts. These are not shortcuts; they are teachers that help you feel where your body should be.
  • Fear Management: Whether you are in our Ghatkopar studio or joining me on a trek to the Sahyadris, I am there to spot you. We learn to fall safely so you can eventually learn to fly.

Join the Practice

Whether you want to join our group batches in Ghatkopar East and Powai or need personal therapy for injury management, my door is open. If you have been scared to try an inversion, that is exactly why you should start.
